Turn Off the Phone
1 minPress and hold the power button, then tap Power Off to shut down the device completely before starting.

Remove the SIM Card Tray
1 minInsert a SIM eject tool into the hole next to the card tray on the left side of the phone and push to release it.

Heat the Back Cover
3 minApply heat around the edges of the plastic back cover using a heat gun or iOpener for 2 to 3 minutes to soften the internal adhesive.

Slice the Back Cover Adhesive
4 minInsert a plastic opening pick between the rear panel and frame, then slide it around the perimeter to cut through the adhesive.

Disconnect the Fingerprint Sensor Cable
2 minSlightly tilt open the back cover and use tweezers or a spudger to press off the fingerprint sensor cable connector from the motherboard.

Remove the Back Cover
1 minLift the back cover away from the phone body and set it aside in a safe area.

Remove the Lower Speaker Screws
2 minUse a Phillips #00 screwdriver to remove the screws securing the lower loudspeaker housing.

Lift Out the Loudspeaker Assembly
2 minInsert a spudger under the edge of the loudspeaker unit and lever it up out of the phone frame.

Disconnect the Main Interconnect Cable
1 minPry up the press connector of the main flex interconnect cable off the daughterboard using a plastic spudger.

Unclip the Antenna Coaxial Cable
2 minUse fine-tip tweezers to carefully lift and unclip the antenna coaxial cable connector from the charging board socket.

Pry Up the Charging Port Board
2 minInsert a flat opening tool under the edge of the charging port board and lift it out of the lower recessed frame.

Position the New Charging Board
2 minAlign the replacement charging port board into the lower chassis slot and press it down until seated flat.

Reattach the Antenna Coaxial Cable
2 minPosition the coaxial cable head over the sub-board socket and press gently until it snaps into place.

Connect the Main Interconnect Cable
1 minAlign the main flex connector over the new board socket and press down firmly to secure the connection.

Reinstall the Loudspeaker Assembly
2 minFit the loudspeaker cover back into the bottom of the frame over the daughterboard area.

Secure the Speaker Screws
2 minDrive the Phillips #00 screws back into the loudspeaker module until snug.

Reconnect the Fingerprint Reader
2 minHold the rear panel near the frame and snap the fingerprint sensor flex cable back onto the motherboard connector.

Apply New Back Cover Adhesive
3 minClean off old adhesive using isopropyl alcohol, then stick custom cut adhesive tape onto the frame edges.

Seal the Back Cover
2 minAlign the back panel carefully over the phone chassis and press firmly along all edges to bond the adhesive.

Reinsert the SIM Tray
1 minSlide the SIM card tray back into its slot on the left edge of the device until it sits flush.
