Step-by-step

Power Off Phone
1 minPress and hold the power button, then select Power Off on the screen to safely shut down the device.

Eject SIM Tray
1 minInsert a SIM eject tool into the pinhole on the left side of the frame to remove the SIM and microSD tray.

Heat Rear Cover
2 minApply a heat gun or iOpener around the perimeter of the back cover for two minutes to soften the internal adhesive.

Insert Opening Pick
2 minPress a suction cup near the bottom edge, pull gently, and slip a plastic opening pick under the back cover seam.

Slice Rear Adhesive
3 minSlide the opening pick carefully along all four edges of the back cover to slice through the adhesive tape.

Disconnect Fingerprint Sensor
2 minSlightly tilt the back cover open and use a spudger to pop the fingerprint reader flex cable off the mainboard.

Remove Lower Phillips Screws
3 minUse a Phillips #00 screwdriver to unbolt all screws securing the bottom loudspeaker assembly cover.

Pry Up Loudspeaker Cover
2 minInsert the flat end of a spudger beneath the edge of the plastic speaker cover and gently pry it loose from the frame.

Remove Old Loudspeaker
1 minUse precision tweezers to lift the original speaker module out of its plastic housing cavity.

Install New Loudspeaker
2 minInsert the new loudspeaker module into the lower frame recess, ensuring the spring contacts face the board correctly.

Secure Loudspeaker Cover
3 minAlign the speaker cover over the bottom assembly and reinsert the Phillips screws until snug.

Reconnect Fingerprint Reader
2 minPosition the back cover near the phone and press the fingerprint sensor flex cable connector into its socket until it clicks.

Apply New Adhesive Tape
3 minClean off remaining old glue with isopropyl alcohol and place new pre-cut adhesive strips along the frame perimeter.

Seal Rear Cover
2 minAlign the back cover with the phone frame and press firmly along the perimeter to secure the adhesive bond.
