Step-by-step

Eject the SIM Tray
1 minInsert a SIM eject tool into the hole on the left side of the phone. Push firmly until the tray pops out, then remove it.

Heat the Rear Panel
2 minApply heat around the perimeter of the back cover with a heat gun for 2 minutes to soften the adhesive.

Attach Suction Cup
1 minPress a suction cup near the bottom edge of the back panel. Pull upward gently to create a gap between the cover and the frame.

Slice the Perimeter Adhesive
3 minInsert a plastic opening pick into the gap and slide it along the bottom and side edges to cut through the adhesive.

Remove the Back Cover
1 minLift the rear cover straight off the chassis once all adhesive is severed. Set the cover aside.

Unscrew the Loudspeaker Enclosure
3 minUse a Phillips #000 screwdriver to remove all visible screws holding the lower speaker module in place.

Pry Off the Loudspeaker Enclosure
1 minInsert a spudger under the plastic lip of the loudspeaker. Pry upward to unlatch and remove it from the device.

Disconnect the Main Flex Cable
1 minUse the flat edge of a spudger to pry the main interconnect ribbon cable connector straight up off the sub-board.

Unclip the Antenna Coaxial Cable
2 minGently pry up the coaxial antenna connector from the lower board using precision tweezers.

Remove the Sub-Board
2 minSlide a spudger under the microphone sub-board and lift it out of the frame recess.

Transfer the Microphone Rubber Seal
2 minUse tweezers to carefully transfer the tiny rubber microphone gasket from the old sub-board onto the replacement board.

Position the Replacement Sub-Board
1 minPlace the new microphone sub-board into the lower cavity of the frame and press it gently into position.

Connect the Antenna Coaxial Cable
2 minAlign the round coaxial cable head over the sub-board socket and press down until it snaps in place.

Connect the Main Flex Cable
1 minAlign the main flex connector with its socket on the sub-board and press firmly until you hear a soft click.

Set the Loudspeaker Enclosure in Place
2 minAlign the lower speaker housing over the sub-board and press down firmly to snap it back into the frame.

Tighten the Loudspeaker Screws
2 minReinsert and tighten all Phillips #000 screws to secure the speaker module to the frame.

Apply New Back Cover Adhesive
3 minClean remaining adhesive residue with isopropyl alcohol, then stick a new pre-cut adhesive strip onto the frame edges.

Press the Back Cover Closed
2 minAlign the rear panel over the phone body and press down around all four edges to establish a firm seal.
