Power Off Device

Eject SIM Card Tray

3 minApply heat evenly around the perimeter of the back cover using a heat gun on low for 2 minutes to soften the glue.

Slice Rear Cover Adhesive
5 minAttach a suction cup near the bottom edge, pull up gently, and insert a plastic pick into the gap to slice through the adhesive.

Remove Rear Plastic Cover

Unscrew Lower and Upper Midframe
4 minUse a Phillips #000 screwdriver to remove all screws securing the plastic midframe and loudspeaker module.

Unclip Plastic Midframe
3 minInsert a spudger around the perimeter clips to unsnap and remove the plastic frame overlaying the internals.

Disconnect Battery Connector
1 minUse the flat end of a plastic spudger to pry the battery flex cable connector straight up off the motherboard.

Disconnect Interconnect Cable
2 minPry up the lower end of the main ribbon cable that connects the motherboard to the bottom daughterboard.

Disconnect Antenna Cable
2 minGently pry up the circular coaxial antenna cable head from its socket on the bottom daughterboard using fine tweezers.

Remove Daughterboard Fasteners
2 minUnscrew the single Phillips #000 screw holding the lower daughterboard containing the primary microphone to the frame.

Pry Out Damaged Microphone Board
2 minSlide a flat spudger beneath the daughterboard and carefully pry it out from the bottom of the phone chassis.

Position New Microphone Board
2 minPlace the replacement daughterboard into the lower housing, aligning the microphone port with the bottom opening.

Attach Antenna and Interconnect Cable
3 minPress the coaxial antenna connector firmly into place, then snap the ribbon interconnect cable down onto the new board.

Reconnect Battery
1 minAlign and press the battery cable connector straight down onto the motherboard connector until it clicks.

Reassemble Frame and Back Cover
5 minSnap the plastic midframe back over the housing, replace all Phillips screws, and press the rear cover down onto new adhesive.
