Power Off the Device

3 minUse a Phillips #00 screwdriver to remove all visible screws securing the upper motherboard protective plastic shield.

Pry Up Motherboard Shield

Disconnect the Battery
1 minUse the flat end of a plastic spudger to pry the battery flex cable straight up from its motherboard socket.

Disconnect the Main Interconnect Cable
1 minUnplug the interconnect ribbon cable running directly across the top of the battery cell.

Apply Isopropyl Alcohol
2 minDrip a few drops of high-concentration isopropyl alcohol along the battery edges to loosen the adhesive backing.

Pry Out Old Battery
3 minInsert a flat plastic card under the battery and gently lever it out of its recessed housing.

Clean Battery Compartment
2 minRemove leftover glue residue from the frame compartment using isopropyl alcohol and a clean cloth.

Apply New Battery Adhesive
2 minApply new adhesive strips onto the replacement battery back surface and peel off the protective backing paper.
