   Remove the SIM tray

   Insert a SIM eject tool into the pinhole at the top edge of the phone. Push firmly to pop out the tray and pull it completely out.

   Heat the display assembly

   Use a heat gun on low heat around the outer glass perimeter for two minutes to soften the adhesive. Keep the heat source moving to avoid burning the screen.

   Attach a suction cup

   Press a suction cup firmly onto the lower third of the glass screen near the home button. Ensure a strong seal against the smooth glass.

   Slice the display adhesive

   Pull up on the suction cup to create a small gap between the glass and metal frame. Insert an opening pick and slide it along the perimeter to slice through all adhesive.

   Lift the screen assembly

   Gently pivot the display assembly open from the right side like a book cover. Do not pull the screen off completely yet, as fragile flex cables are still connected.

   Remove the display bracket

   Locate the metal bracket covering the display cable connector on the motherboard. Unscrew the single Phillips #000 screw securing it and remove the bracket with tweezers.

   Disconnect the display flex cable

   Pry the display flex cable straight up from its motherboard socket using the flat end of a spudger. Set the display assembly aside safely.

   Unscrew the plastic midframe

   Remove all nineteen Phillips #000 screws securing the internal plastic midframe to the phone body. Keep track of all screws for reassembly.

   Pry off the plastic midframe

   Insert a plastic prying tool under the corner of the midframe and lift up to release the plastic clips. Carefully lift the midframe away from the chassis.

    Disconnect the battery flex cable

    Locate the battery press connector on the motherboard. Use a spudger to snap the connector off its socket to immediately disconnect all power.

    Remove the motherboard

    Disconnect the antenna cable and power/volume button flex cables from the main board. Carefully lift the motherboard out of the phone housing using a spudger.

    Scrub the motherboard with alcohol

    Submerge or heavily saturate the motherboard in 99% isopropyl alcohol. Scrub off all liquid corrosion and deposits using a soft-bristled brush.

    Clean the lower charge board

    Dip the soft brush in 99% isopropyl alcohol and scrub the sub-board at the bottom of the device, focusing on the USB port and ribbon connectors.

    Dry components with compressed air

    Blow short bursts of compressed air over the motherboard and sub-board to remove trapped liquid and loose debris. Allow all parts to air-dry completely.

    Reinstall logic board and midframe

    Place the dried motherboard back into the phone housing, reattach all internal flex cables, and secure the plastic midframe with the nineteen screws.

    Reconnect and seal the screen

    Reconnect the display flex cable, screw down the protective bracket, apply new perimeter adhesive, and press the screen firmly into the frame.
