   Eject the SIM tray

   Insert a SIM eject tool into the hole at the top edge of the phone to release the SIM and SD card tray.

   Heat the front display

   Use a heat gun or hairdryer to warm the outer edges of the display glass for two minutes to soften the adhesive underneath.

   Attach suction cup

   Press a suction cup firmly onto the lower portion of the front screen near the home button.

   Insert an opening pick

   Pull up gently on the suction cup ring to create a slight gap and slide a plastic opening pick under the glass edge.

   Slice perimeter adhesive

   Slide the plastic pick carefully around all four sides of the frame to slice through the display adhesive.

   Open the display screen

   Pry the screen assembly up slightly and swing it open from the right edge, taking care not to pull the display cable.

   Unscrew the display bracket

   Remove the Phillips #00 screws holding the metal bracket over the screen flex cable connector.

   Disconnect the display cable

   Use a plastic spudger to gently pop the display connector off its socket on the motherboard.

   Unscrew the internal midframe

   Remove the Phillips #00 screws securing the plastic midframe to the phone chassis.

    Remove the midframe cover

    Pry up the edges of the plastic midframe using a spudger and remove it from the phone.

    Disconnect the battery cable

    Use the flat end of a spudger to disconnect the battery flex connector from the motherboard.

    Pull battery adhesive tabs

    Locate the adhesive pull tabs at the top of the battery and slowly pull them flat and parallel to the chassis to release.

    Pry out the old battery

    Insert a wide plastic spudger beneath the battery and gently lift it out of its recessed bay.

    Install battery adhesive strips

    Apply new double-sided battery adhesive strips to the back of the replacement battery.

    Position the replacement battery

    Set the new battery into the housing recess and press down firmly to set the adhesive.

    Connect the battery cable

    Align and press down on the new battery connector until it snaps firmly into the motherboard socket.

    Reattach the midframe cover

    Place the internal plastic midframe back over the assembly and press until it snaps into position.

    Secure midframe screws

    Reinstall all the Phillips #00 screws into the plastic midframe to hold it tight against the chassis.

    Reconnect display flex connector

    Snap the display flex cable back onto the motherboard and reinstall the metal protective bracket with its screws.

    Apply display adhesive strips

    Clean remaining glue with isopropyl alcohol, then lay fresh pre-cut adhesive along the edges of the frame.

    Seal the display screen

    Align the screen with the outer body frame and press firmly along all edges to seat the adhesive.
