   Remove the SIM tray

   Insert a SIM eject tool into the hole next to the SIM tray on the left edge of the device. Press firmly to pop the tray out, then slide it completely out of the frame.

   Warm the back cover

   Use a heat gun or hair dryer on low heat to warm the edges of the back cover for two minutes. This softens the adhesive securing the rear panel to the frame.

   Attach suction cup

   Press a suction cup firmly onto the lower portion of the rear panel. Pull gently upward to create a slim opening between the panel and the chassis.

   Insert opening pick

   Slide a plastic opening pick into the gap created by the suction cup. Keep the pick shallow to avoid damaging internal ribbons.

   Slice back cover adhesive

   Slide the pick carefully around all four edges of the back panel to slice through the perimeter glue. Reapply heat if you meet strong resistance.

   Remove back cover

   Lift the rear panel clear off the chassis and set it aside on a clean surface.

   Unscrew midframe fasteners

   Use a Phillips #00 screwdriver to remove all screws securing the plastic midframe and camera bracket to the inner chassis.

   Unclip midframe assembly

   Insert a plastic pry tool around the edges of the midframe to unhook its retaining clips. Lift the frame away from the phone body.

   Disconnect battery cable

   Use a plastic spudger to gently pry the battery connector straight up off the motherboard socket. Disconnecting power prevents electrical shorts.

    Disconnect display flex cable

    Pry up the main display interconnect flex cable connector near the battery. Fold the cable back slightly to clear the battery removal area.

    Locate battery pull tabs

    Find the adhesive pull tabs visible at the bottom edge of the battery pouch. Use fine tweezers to unpeel the clear pull-tab ends.

    Pull adhesive strips

    Slowly pull each adhesive tab at a flat angle parallel to the phone surface. Maintain constant, gentle tension until the strips stretch out completely.

    Apply isopropyl alcohol

    If the pull tabs snap, apply a few drops of high-concentration isopropyl alcohol under the edges of the battery. Wait two minutes for the solvent to loosen the glue.

    Pry out old battery

    Insert a flat plastic spudger beneath the battery side and gently lever it out of the recess. Do not use metal tools or puncture the battery cell.

    Clean chassis recess

    Wipe away remaining adhesive residue inside the battery well using a lint-free cloth lightly dampened with isopropyl alcohol.

    Install new adhesive

    Peel the protective backing off the replacement battery adhesive strips and press them smoothly into the battery tray.

    Set replacement battery

    Align the new battery with the frame, temporarily connect the battery flex to ensure proper alignment, then press the battery firmly into place.
