Step-by-step

Power off the device
1 minPress and hold the power button, then select power off on the screen to completely shut down your Motorola G41.

Eject the SIM tray
1 minInsert a SIM eject tool or paperclip into the hole on the left edge of the phone to remove the card tray.

Heat the rear cover
3 minApply a heat gun or heated pad to the edges of the back cover for two minutes to soften the adhesive.

Slice perimeter adhesive
5 minAttach a suction handle to the lower back cover, lift gently, and insert an opening pick into the gap to slice through the adhesive.

Remove the back cover
2 minSlide the pick around all four edges until the rear panel releases, then set the back cover aside.

Unscrew the upper midframe
3 minRemove the Phillips #00 screws securing the plastic motherboard frame to the chassis.

Remove motherboard shield
2 minPry up the edges of the plastic upper frame with a spudger and lift it off the board.

Disconnect the battery cable
1 minUse a plastic spudger to gently pop the battery press connector off the logic board to prevent short circuits.

Disconnect camera cables
3 minPry up the press connectors for the front selfie camera and the rear camera cluster using tweezers or a spudger.

Disconnect display and sub-board flexes
2 minUnplug the main display flex cable and the lower sub-board interconnect cable from their board sockets.

Disconnect antenna cable
2 minCarefully pry the white coaxial antenna cable connector straight up off its terminal on the board.

Remove logic board bracket screw
1 minUnscrew any remaining single retaining screw securing the logic board to the inner housing.

Extract the logic board
2 minLever the logic board up from its top corner and remove it from the phone frame.

Perform board repair
15 minInspect the logic board under magnification, apply flux, and solder or replace damaged surface-mount components as required.

Reinstall logic board
2 minAlign the repaired logic board with the housing cutouts and press it flat into the chassis.

Reconnect flex cables
4 minAttach the display, sub-board interconnect, camera, and antenna cables back to their corresponding board ports.

5 minPlug the battery back in, screw the upper frame back down, and secure the rear cover with fresh adhesive.
