   Power off the phone

   Press and hold the power button, then tap Power Off on the screen. Make sure the device is completely powered down before continuing.

   Eject the SIM tray

   Insert a SIM eject tool into the pinhole on the left edge of the device. Push firmly until the tray pops out, then pull it out fully.

   Heat the rear cover

   Apply heat to the outer edges of the back cover using a heat gun or hair dryer for about two minutes. This softens the adhesive holding the rear panel.

   Attach the suction cup

   Press a suction cup near the bottom edge of the back panel. Gently pull upward on the handle to create a tiny gap between the cover and the frame.

   Slice the perimeter adhesive

   Insert a plastic opening pick into the gap created by the suction cup. Slide the pick around all four edges to slice through the perimeter adhesive seal.

   Lift off the rear cover

   Carefully separate the rear panel from the body of the phone. Set the rear cover aside in a clean location.

   Unscrew the loudspeaker assembly

   Use a Phillips #00 screwdriver to remove the screws securing the lower loudspeaker housing to the frame.

   Remove the loudspeaker bracket

   Insert a flat spudger under the edge of the loudspeaker assembly. Gently pry up to unclip and remove it from the bottom of the device.

   Disconnect the battery flex cable

   Locate the mainboard connector shield and pry up the battery flex cable using a plastic spudger. This cuts power to the board and prevents electrical shorts.

    Disconnect the main interconnect cable

    Use the edge of a spudger to pry the main interconnect flex cable connector straight up from the charging board socket.

    Disconnect the coaxial antenna cable

    Grip the coaxial cable head near its sub-board connection with tweezers. Lift straight up to unclip the antenna cable from the charging board.

    Pry out the charging port daughterboard

    Insert a plastic spudger beneath the edge of the charging daughterboard. Carefully lever the board up and pull it away from the chassis.

    Insert the new daughterboard

    Position the replacement charging port board into the lower chassis recess. Press down lightly so it rests flush inside the housing.

    Reconnect the antenna cable

    Align the coaxial antenna connector over its socket on the new sub-board. Press down gently with tweezers until it snaps firmly into place.

    Reconnect the main interconnect cable

    Align the interconnect flex cable over the socket on the new charging board. Press down on the connector until you feel it click.

    Reconnect the battery cable

    Press the battery flex cable connector back into its socket on the mainboard until securely attached.

    Reinstall the loudspeaker bracket

    Place the loudspeaker housing back over the bottom sub-board. Press down on the edges until it clips back onto the frame.

    Secure the loudspeaker screws

    Thread and tighten the Phillips #00 screws into the loudspeaker assembly until snug.

    Apply new rear adhesive

    Lay fresh custom-cut adhesive strips along the perimeter frame of the phone. Peel off the protective film top layer.

    Press the rear cover shut

    Align the back cover with the phone body and press firmly along all edges to seat the adhesive seal.

    Reinsert the SIM tray

    Slide the SIM tray back into the card slot on the side of the device until it sits flush.
