Safety
- Power down the phone completely before beginning disassembly.
- Wear an anti-static wrist strap to prevent electrostatic discharge damage to internal electronics.
- Do not puncture, bend, or apply pressure to the lithium-ion battery during repair.
Overview
Step-by-step
- 1
Turn off the device
1 minPress and hold the power button, then select Power Off on the screen. Ensure the device is fully shut down before proceeding.

Remove the rear cover
2 minInsert a plastic prying tool into the notch at the bottom edge of the phone. Pry upward gently around the perimeter to release the plastic clips and pull off the back cover.

Remove SIM and microSD cards
1 minUse your fingers or tweezers to pull the SIM card and microSD card straight out from their respective slots.

Unscrew the rear midframe
5 minUse a Torx T3 screwdriver to remove the 19 screws securing the internal midframe to the phone chassis.

Detach the midframe assembly
3 minInsert a plastic opening pick under the edge of the midframe and slide it along the sides to unclip it. Lift the midframe off the housing.

Disconnect the battery cable
1 minUse the flat end of a plastic spudger to gently pry up the battery press connector from the mainboard.

Disconnect the fingerprint sensor cable
2 minPry up the fingerprint sensor flex cable press connector near the bottom of the motherboard.

Disconnect the daughterboard ribbon cable
2 minUse a spudger to release the lower daughterboard ribbon cable connector located near the bottom of the device.

Remove the microphone daughterboard
3 minInsert a flat plastic opening tool beneath the lower sub-board containing the primary microphone. Gently pry it up to release it from the adhesive underneath.

Install the new microphone board
2 minAlign the replacement microphone daughterboard into the bottom cavity of the phone frame. Press down lightly to seat it in place.

Reconnect the daughterboard ribbon cable
1 minAlign the ribbon cable connector directly over its socket on the daughterboard and press down firmly until it snaps in.

Reconnect the fingerprint sensor cable
1 minPress the fingerprint sensor ribbon connector back into its corresponding socket on the board.

Reconnect the battery cable
1 minAlign the battery press connector over its motherboard socket and press down firmly to re-establish power connection.

Reattach the internal midframe
2 minPosition the midframe over the back of the phone and press firmly along the edges until all plastic clips snap together.

Fasten the midframe screws
4 minReinstall all 19 Torx T3 screws into the midframe using your screwdriver until secure.

Reinstall cards and back cover
2 minSlide your SIM and microSD cards back into their slots, then press the plastic outer back cover on until fully snapped in place.
