Step-by-step

Power off the phone
1 minPress and hold the power button, then select Power Off on the screen. Ensure the device is fully shut down before proceeding.

Remove the back cover
2 minInsert a fingernail or plastic opening pick into the notch at the bottom edge. Pry the rear cover away from the phone body.

Remove SIM and microSD cards
2 minSlide out any installed SIM cards and the microSD card from their respective card slots.

Unscrew the midframe screws
5 minUse a Torx T3 screwdriver to remove all 19 screws securing the inner midframe assembly.

Unseat the midframe plastic clips
3 minInsert a plastic prying tool between the midframe and the outer housing. Slide it around the perimeter to release the snap clips.

Lift the lower midframe edge
2 minGently swing the bottom of the midframe up from the main body like a hinge.

Disconnect the fingerprint sensor

Apply new battery adhesive
2 minPeel and position fresh adhesive strips inside the battery well on the chassis.

2 minPlace the replacement battery into the cavity and press down firmly to set it into the adhesive.

Reconnect the fingerprint sensor cable

Reinsert SIM and microSD cards
