Step-by-step

Power off the device
1 minPress and hold the power button on the right edge, then tap Power Off on the screen.

Remove the rear cover
1 minInsert a plastic opening tool or fingernail into the notch at the bottom edge and lift the rear cover off.

Remove the battery
1 minPry the removable battery upward from the bottom recess and pull it out of the phone.

Remove SIM and microSD cards

2 minInsert fine-tip tweezers underneath the edge of the loudspeaker assembly and gently pry it out of its plastic housing.

Clean the speaker recess
2 minUse a microfiber cloth with a drop of isopropyl alcohol to remove any residual adhesive or debris from the housing.

Insert the replacement speaker
2 minPress the new loudspeaker module into the midframe recess, ensuring the metal spring contacts align properly.

Align the midframe cover
1 minPosition the inner midframe assembly back onto the main phone body.

Snap the midframe closed
2 minPress firmly along the perimeter of the midframe until all plastic retention clips snap securely into place.

Reinstall the midframe screws
3 minFasten the ten Phillips #00 screws back into the midframe to lock it to the chassis.

Reinstall cards and battery
2 minReinsert your SIM and microSD cards into their slots, then push the battery into its bay until flush.

Attach the rear cover
