Turn off the phone
1 minPress and hold the power button, then tap Power Off on the screen. Ensure the device is completely powered down before continuing.

Remove the SIM card tray
1 minInsert a SIM eject tool into the hole beside the SIM tray on the side of the phone. Push firmly to eject the tray and pull it completely out.

Warm the back cover adhesive
2 minUse a heat gun or hair dryer on low heat to warm the outer edges of the back cover for two minutes. This softens the internal adhesive strips.

Attach a suction cup to the back
1 minPress a suction cup firmly near the bottom edge of the back panel. Pull up gently on the handle to create a tiny gap between the cover and the frame.

Insert an opening pick
2 minSlide a thin plastic opening pick into the gap created by the suction cup. Be careful not to insert it too deeply to avoid internal components.

Slice around the back cover edges
4 minSlide the pick along the bottom, sides, and top edges to slice through the adhesive seal. Reapply light heat if the pick begins to drag.

Lift the back cover slightly
2 minCarefully hinge the back cover open toward the power button side. Do not pull it away completely yet, as the fingerprint sensor cable is still connected.

Disconnect the fingerprint flex cable
2 minUse the flat end of a plastic spudger to pop the fingerprint sensor press-connector straight up from the motherboard. Set the back panel aside.

Remove the lower housing screws
3 minUse a Phillips #00 precision screwdriver to remove all screws securing the lower loudspeaker cover. Keep the screws organized for reassembly.

Detach the loudspeaker assembly
2 minInsert the tip of a spudger under the loudspeaker module edge and lift it out of the phone body. Put the speaker component aside.

Unplug the interconnect flex cable
2 minLocate the main display/interconnect ribbon cable attached to the sub-board. Pry its press connector straight up off the sub-board connector socket.

Disconnect the coaxial antenna cable
2 minUse precision tweezers to grip the metal head of the white RF antenna cable. Pry it straight up from the tiny terminal button on the sub-board.

Remove the sub-board screw
1 minLocate and unscrew the single small Phillips screw anchoring the charging port sub-board to the main frame.

Pry up the charging port board
2 minInsert a plastic spudger underneath the edge of the sub-board. Carefully lift it out from its seated recess in the phone frame.

Position the new charging board
2 minAlign the replacement sub-board over the bottom cavity of the frame. Lower it straight down until it rests flush against the alignment pins.

Drive the sub-board retaining screw
1 minInsert and tighten the single Phillips screw to secure the new charging port board to the chassis.

Reconnect the antenna cable
2 minAlign the tiny circular head of the antenna cable over its sub-board socket. Gently press down until it snaps securely into place.

Plug in the interconnect cable
2 minPosition the interconnect flex cable connector over its mating socket on the sub-board. Press firmly down until you feel a distinct click.

Position the loudspeaker housing
2 minPlace the loudspeaker cover back into position over the bottom sub-board assembly, pressing it gently down flush with the housing frame.

Tighten the lower housing screws
3 minReinstall and tighten all Phillips screws that secure the loudspeaker cover in place.

Reconnect the fingerprint sensor flex
2 minHold the back cover close to the phone frame and snap the fingerprint sensor flex cable onto its motherboard connector.

Clean residual adhesive
3 minDampen a lint-free cloth with isopropyl alcohol and wipe away old adhesive residue from the perimeter of the phone frame and back cover.

Apply fresh back cover adhesive
3 minPeel and lay fresh custom cut adhesive strips along the perimeter frame of the phone, smoothing down any bubbles with your thumb.

Seal the back cover
2 minAlign the back cover precisely over the frame and press around all four edges firmly to set the new adhesive seal.

Reinsert the SIM card tray
1 minPush the SIM card tray back into its slot on the side of the phone until it sits completely flush.
