Step-by-step

Eject the SIM tray
1 minInsert a SIM eject tool or paperclip into the pinhole on the side of the frame. Push firmly to pop out the tray, then pull it completely out of the device.

Heat the rear cover
3 minUse a heat gun or hair dryer to apply warmth around the back cover edges for about two minutes. This softens the perimeter adhesive seal.

Attach the suction cup
2 minPress a suction cup onto the lower third of the rear cover. Pull upward on the handle until a slight gap appears between the cover and the chassis frame.

Insert an opening pick
2 minInsert a plastic opening pick directly into the gap created by the suction cup. Slide it along the bottom edge to slice through the adhesive.

Slice perimeter adhesive
4 minGuide the pick slowly along the left, right, and top edges of the phone. Keep the pick shallow near the camera module to avoid damaging internal cables.

Remove the rear cover
2 minGently lift the back cover off the body once the adhesive is fully separated. Place the cover aside on a clean surface.

Unscrew the speaker assembly
3 minUse a Phillips #00 screwdriver to remove the screws holding the lower loudspeaker housing. Store these screws together so they are not lost.

Remove the loudspeaker
2 minInsert a spudger beneath the notch on the speaker housing. Pry upward gently to disengage the plastic clips and remove the module.

Disconnect the battery
1 minPry the battery press connector straight up off the motherboard using a flat plastic spudger. This cuts power to the device to prevent short circuits.

Disconnect the interconnect cable
2 minUse the edge of a spudger to pop the main flex interconnect cable connector off the lower sub-board. Bend the cable slightly out of the way.

Disconnect the antenna coaxial cable
2 minGrasp the white antenna cable head with tweezers and pull it straight up off its socket on the charging board. Never pull on the wire itself.

Unscrew the charging board
1 minRemove the single Phillips #00 screw securing the charging port sub-board to the internal frame.

Remove the damaged charging board
2 minSlide a flat spudger under the edge of the sub-board and carefully lift it out of the lower chassis cavity.

Install the new charging board
2 minPosition the new charging port sub-board into the lower cavity. Ensure the USB-C port aligns cleanly with the frame opening.

Fasten the charging board screw
1 minReinstall the single Phillips #00 screw into the sub-board. Tighten until snug, taking care not to overtighten.

Reconnect the antenna cable
2 minAlign the antenna cable connector precisely above its socket on the new board. Press down gently with a spudger until it clicks into place.

Reconnect the interconnect cable
2 minAlign the main flex cable connector over the sub-board header. Press down firmly on the connector until you feel a soft pop.

Reconnect the battery cable
1 minAlign the battery press connector over its motherboard socket. Snap it firmly down to restore power capability.

Reinstall the loudspeaker
2 minPlace the loudspeaker housing back over the bottom assembly. Press around the edges to lock the plastic retention clips into place.

Apply back cover adhesive
3 minLine the perimeter of the frame with pre-cut adhesive strips or fresh tape. Peel away the protective backing film.

2 minAlign the rear cover with the phone body and lower it into place. Apply firm pressure around all four edges for 30 seconds to seat the adhesive.

Reinsert the SIM tray
1 minSlide the SIM card tray back into the frame slot until it sits completely flush with the outer edge.
