Step-by-step

Power Off the Device
1 minPress and hold the power button, then select 'Power off' on the screen. Ensure the device is fully shut down before starting disassembly.

Eject the SIM Tray
1 minInsert a SIM eject tool into the hole on the left side of the frame. Push firmly until the SIM tray pops out, then remove it completely.

Heat the Rear Cover
2 minApply heat to the edges of the back panel using a heat gun on low for about two minutes. Warm adhesive is much easier to slice through without cracking the cover.

Attach Suction Cup and Insert Pick
3 minPlace a suction cup on the lower back panel and pull up slightly to create a gap. Insert a thin plastic opening pick into the seam.

Slice the Rear Adhesive
4 minSlide the pick around all four edges of the phone to cut the adhesive tape. Keep the pick shallow near the side buttons to avoid damaging internal ribbons.

Remove the Back Cover
1 minLift the rear plastic cover away from the chassis. Set the rear cover aside on your workspace.

Unscrew Upper Plastic Frame
3 minUse a Phillips #000 screwdriver to remove all screws securing the motherboard protective cover and camera bezel.

Detach Upper Motherboard Cover
2 minInsert a plastic spudger beneath the edge of the upper frame bracket and pry it up. Remove the bracket to reveal the motherboard beneath.

Disconnect the Battery Flex Cable
1 minPry the battery connector straight up from its socket on the logic board using a plastic spudger. Disconnecting power prevents electrical damage.

Disconnect Display and Interconnect Cables
2 minUse your spudger to disconnect the display flex cable and lower sub-board interconnect cable from the logic board.

Unplug Antenna Coaxial Cables
2 minUse precision tweezers to gently lever the antenna cable heads straight up from their logic board sockets.

Remove Logic Board Retaining Screws
2 minUnscrew the small Phillips #000 screws holding the motherboard flat against the internal frame.

Pry Out the Logic Board
3 minGently insert a spudger under the bottom corner of the logic board and lift it free from the phone housing. Ensure no remaining flex cables are snagged as you remove it.
