Step-by-step

Power off phone
1 minTurn off your Motorola Moto G30 completely before starting disassembly. Disconnect any attached charging cables.

Remove SIM tray
1 minInsert a SIM eject tool into the hole on the left edge of the device. Push firmly to eject the SIM tray and remove it completely.

Heat back cover
2 minApply heat with a heat gun or iOpener around all edges of the rear cover for two minutes to soften the adhesive.

Attach suction cup
1 minPress a suction cup onto the lower section of the rear glass panel. Pull up gently to create a tiny gap along the bottom seam.

Insert opening pick
2 minSlide a thin plastic opening pick into the gap created at the bottom edge between the rear cover and the frame.

Slice perimeter adhesive
3 minSlide the pick carefully around all four sides of the phone frame to separate the back cover adhesive.

Unfold rear cover carefully
2 minGently lift the left side of the rear cover like a book. Be careful not to strain the attached fingerprint sensor flex cable.

Remove upper motherboard cover screws
3 minUse a Phillips #00 screwdriver to remove the screws holding the plastic upper motherboard shield in place.

Pry up top motherboard cover
2 minInsert a spudger under the plastic motherboard cover and carefully unclip it from the frame.

Disconnect fingerprint sensor flex
1 minUse the flat end of a spudger to lift the fingerprint sensor ribbon cable straight up from its motherboard socket.

Set aside rear cover
1 minLift the rear cover away from the device chassis and place it in a safe, clean spot.

Unscrew lower speaker assembly
3 minRemove the Phillips screws securing the bottom speaker housing over the sub-board assembly.

Remove lower speaker housing
2 minPry up the speaker module using a spudger and remove it from the frame to expose the charging port board.

Disconnect main interconnect cable
1 minPry up the press-fit connector of the main interconnect flex cable located on the charging daughterboard.

Disconnect antenna cable
1 minUse precision tweezers to gently lever the coaxial antenna cable connector off the lower sub-board.

Remove sub-board retaining screw
2 minUnscrew the single Phillips screw securing the charging port board to the phone housing.

Pry out old daughterboard
2 minInsert a flat spudger underneath the edge of the charging port board and lift it out of the chassis.

Seat new charging port board
2 minPlace the new charging port sub-board into its frame recess, pressing down lightly until seated.

Secure sub-board screw
1 minReinstall and tighten the single Phillips screw holding the new charging daughterboard to the frame.

Reconnect antenna cable
1 minAlign the coaxial antenna head over its socket on the new board and gently press down until it snaps in.

Reconnect main interconnect cable
1 minAlign and press the ribbon cable connector onto the bottom sub-board until it securely clicks.

Reinstall speaker housing
2 minPosition the lower speaker module over the bottom frame and press it gently into place.

Tighten lower assembly screws
2 minReplace and tighten all the Phillips screws that secure the bottom speaker enclosure.

Reconnect fingerprint sensor
2 minHold the back cover close to the chassis and reconnect the fingerprint flex cable to the motherboard.

Reattach top motherboard bracket
3 minPlace the upper plastic cover over the motherboard and drive in its Phillips screws securely.

Apply fresh cover adhesive
3 minClean remaining glue residues with isopropyl alcohol and apply fresh pre-cut adhesive to the rear frame.

Press rear cover into place
2 minAlign the back cover with the frame edges and press down firmly around the perimeter to seal it.

Reinsert SIM tray
1 minSlide the SIM card tray back into its slot on the left side until it sits flush with the frame.
