Power Off Device

2 minApply heat to the edges of the back cover for two minutes using a heat gun set to low warmth. This softens the perimeter adhesive.

Attach Suction Cup
1 minPlace a suction cup on the lower portion of the back cover near the USB port. Pull upward gently to create a small gap.

Insert Plastic Opening Pick
1 minSlide a thin plastic prying pick into the gap created between the back cover and the chassis frame.

Slice Rear Cover Adhesive
3 minGuide the opening pick along all four edges of the back cover to fully slice through the factory adhesive sealant.

Lift Off Back Cover
1 minCarefully separate the plastic back cover from the body of the phone and set it aside.

3 minUse a Phillips #000 precision screwdriver to unbolt all visible screws securing the plastic midframe cover.

1 minLocate the volume button flex cable press-connector on the motherboard and pop it off using a spudger.

2 minGently insert curved tweezers under the old volume flex cable strip inside the side frame channel and peel it out.

Clean Button Housing Recess
2 minUse a cotton swab dampened with isopropyl alcohol to wipe away residual tape or debris from the internal volume key channel.

Seat Replacement Volume Flex Cable
2 minPeel the adhesive backing from the new volume flex strip, insert it into the side channel, and press down firmly to secure it.

Plug In Volume Ribbon Cable
