   Turn off the phone

   Press and hold the power button, then select Power Off on the screen. Ensure the device is completely powered down before proceeding.

   Eject the SIM tray

   Insert a SIM eject tool into the pinhole on the left side of the device. Push inward firmly until the tray pops out, then pull it clear.

   Heat the back cover

   Use a heat gun or hairdryer on low heat along the outer edges of the rear panel for two minutes to soften the adhesive.

   Attach a suction cup

   Place a suction cup on the lower third of the rear panel. Pull up gently on the ring to create a small gap between the cover and the frame.

   Slice the perimeter adhesive

   Insert an opening pick into the gap created by the suction cup. Slide the pick around the perimeter to slice through the adhesive bonds.

   Remove the back panel

   Lift the rear cover straight off the chassis once all adhesive is severed. Set it aside on a clean surface.

   Unscrew the loudspeaker housing

   Remove the Phillips #00 screws securing the bottom loudspeaker cover to the frame.

   Pry out the loudspeaker module

   Insert a spudger under the edge of the lower housing and carefully lift the speaker module out of the phone.

   Disconnect the interconnect flex cable

   Use a plastic spudger to pry the lower main interconnect ribbon cable connector straight up from the sub-board.

    Disconnect the coaxial antenna cable

    Use precision tweezers to pry up the head of the thin coaxial antenna cable from its socket on the sub-board.

    Remove the microphone daughterboard

    Insert a spudger beneath the daughterboard housing the microphone and gently pry it out from the lower recessed bay.

    Set the new microphone sub-board

    Align the replacement microphone sub-board into the lower housing bay and press down gently until it sits flush.

    Reconnect the antenna and main flex cables

    Snap the coaxial antenna cable and main interconnect flex cable connectors back onto the sub-board until they click.

    Reinstall the loudspeaker cover

    Position the loudspeaker housing back over the bottom assembly and replace the Phillips #00 screws to hold it in place.

    Reseal the back cover

    Apply new adhesive strips along the edges of the frame, align the rear cover, and press firmly around all edges to secure it.
