   Power off the phone

   Press and hold the Power button, then select Power Off on the screen. Ensure the device is completely powered down before proceeding.

   Remove the SIM card tray

   Insert a SIM eject tool into the hole next to the tray on the left side of the frame. Push firmly to pop out the tray and remove it.

   Heat the rear panel

   Warm the outer edges of the rear panel with a heat gun or hair dryer for two minutes. This softens the glue securing the plastic back cover.

   Attach a suction handle

   Press a suction handle firmly onto the lower half of the rear panel. Pull up gently to create a small gap along the bottom seam.

   Insert an opening pick

   Slide a plastic opening pick into the gap created by the suction handle. Leave the pick in place to prevent the adhesive from resealing.

   Slice through the rear adhesive

   Slide the pick around all four edges of the back panel to cut through the adhesive layer. Take care not to insert the pick more than 5 mm.

   Remove the rear cover

   Lift the rear cover straight up off the frame. Clean off any loose adhesive strips left on the inside of the cover.

   Unscrew the motherboard shield

   Use a Phillips #00 screwdriver to remove the screws holding the plastic upper motherboard cover in place. Keep track of all removed screws.

   Detach the motherboard shield

   Insert the flat end of a plastic spudger under the motherboard shield edge and lift it off the chassis. Set the shield aside.

    Disconnect the battery flex cable

    Pry the battery connector straight up from its motherboard socket using a plastic spudger. This cuts power to prevent short circuits.

    Disconnect the fingerprint sensor ribbon

    Use a spudger to detach the fingerprint sensor flex cable connector from the motherboard. Move the cable gently out of the work area.

    Apply battery adhesive remover

    Apply a few drops of isopropyl alcohol or adhesive remover along the edges of the battery bay. Allow one minute for the liquid to soften the glue.

    Locate the battery release tab

    Find the clear plastic adhesive tab attached to the side wrapper of the battery. Peel the tab edge up using fine tweezers.

    Pull the adhesive tab

    Grasp the adhesive tab firmly and pull it out at a low flat angle. Continue pulling steadily until the adhesive strip stretches out completely.

    Pry out the old battery

    Insert a flat plastic spudger under the side edge of the battery and lift gently. Never use metal tools or apply high force to pry the battery.

    Clean the battery recess

    Wipe the floor of the battery bay with isopropyl alcohol and a lint-free cloth. Remove all old adhesive residue and debris.

    Apply new battery adhesive

    Peel the backing off new double-sided adhesive strips and press them onto the floor of the battery bay. Remove the top protective film.

    Seat the replacement battery

    Align the new battery over the recess and press it down firmly. Ensure the battery flex cable naturally aligns with its motherboard socket.

    Plug in the battery cable

    Press the battery flex connector straight down onto its motherboard socket until it clicks firmly into place.

    Reconnect the fingerprint flex

    Align the fingerprint sensor ribbon connector over its socket and press down to lock it in place.

    Position the motherboard shield

    Place the motherboard shield back over the top circuit board. Press around the edges to snap its perimeter clips onto the frame.

    Secure the motherboard shield screws

    Reinstall all Phillips #00 screws into the motherboard shield until snug. Avoid overtightening to prevent stripping threads.

    Apply rear panel adhesive tape

    Lay down fresh precut adhesive strips along the perimeter frame lip where the back panel sits.

    Reattach the rear cover

    Align the back panel with the body and press down firmly around all edges. Maintain pressure for 30 seconds to lock the seal.

    Reinsert the SIM card tray

    Slide the SIM card tray back into the card slot on the side of the phone until it sits flush.
