Step-by-step
- 1
Power off the device
1 minPress and hold the power button, then tap Power Off on the screen. Ensure the device is completely powered down before continuing.

Eject the SIM card tray
1 minInsert a SIM eject tool into the hole beside the tray on the left side of the frame. Push firmly to pop the tray out, then remove it.

Heat the rear cover
2 minApply a heat gun or hair dryer evenly across the back panel edges for two minutes to soften the internal adhesive.

Attach a suction cup
1 minPress a suction cup onto the lower third of the rear cover and pull gently upwards to create a small gap.

Insert an opening pick
1 minInsert a plastic prying pick into the gap created between the back panel and the frame.

Slice through perimeter adhesive
3 minSlide the plastic pick carefully along all four sides of the phone to separate the glue.

Remove the rear cover
1 minLift the rear panel away from the chassis and set it aside on your clean workspace mat.

Unscrew the lower speaker housing
3 minUse a Phillips #000 screwdriver to remove all screws securing the bottom loudspeaker cover.

Unclip the speaker housing
2 minPry gently beneath the edge of the lower plastic cover using a flat spudger to release the retainers.

Disconnect the battery press connector
1 minUse the edge of a plastic spudger to snap up the battery flex cable from the mainboard for safety.

Remove the old loudspeaker module
2 minUse tweezers to lift the loudspeaker driver out of its cavity inside the bottom assembly.

Install the new loudspeaker module
2 minSet the replacement speaker driver into the housing cavity, making sure the spring contacts line up correctly.

Reconnect the battery press connector
1 minAlign the battery flex connector over its motherboard socket and press straight down until it clicks.

Snap the lower housing in place
2 minPosition the speaker cover over the bottom frame and press down firmly around the edges until it snaps tight.

Reinstall the speaker cover screws
3 minThread and tighten the Phillips #000 screws back into the lower housing until snug.

Apply new frame adhesive
3 minPlace thin adhesive tape strips around the perimeter of the rear chassis frame.

Press the back cover shut

Reinsert the SIM card tray
