Step-by-step

Power Off the Device
1 minPress and hold the power button, then tap Power Off to safely shut down the phone.

Eject the SIM Tray
1 minInsert a SIM eject tool into the hole on the left edge and push firmly to pop out the SIM tray.

Heat the Back Cover
2 minUse a heat gun or hair dryer to warm the outer edges of the back panel for about two minutes.

Slice the Back Cover Adhesive
3 minAttach a suction cup near the bottom, pull up gently, and insert a plastic pick to slice the edge adhesive.

Remove the Rear Panel
2 minSlide the plastic pick around all sides of the device to fully detach and remove the rear cover.

Unscrew the Midframe Screws
4 minUse a Phillips #00 screwdriver to remove all visible screws securing the internal plastic midframe.

Unclip the Fingerprint Cable
2 minUse a spudger to gently pop off the fingerprint reader flex connector from the motherboard.

Detach the Plastic Midframe
3 minInsert a spudger between the midframe and the chassis to unclip the frame along the outer border.

Disconnect the Battery Cable
1 minPry the battery press connector straight up off the motherboard using a plastic spudger.

1 minLocate the screen flex connector on the motherboard and disconnect it using the pointed tip of a spudger.

Heat the Front Screen
2 minApply heat to the front glass edges for two minutes to soften the display adhesive bond.

Separate Glass from Frame
4 minPlace a suction cup on the glass, lift slightly, and slice through the screen adhesive with an opening pick.

Remove the Damaged Screen
2 minGuide the display flex cable carefully through the frame slot as you lift the screen away.

Clean Old Adhesive Residue
4 minScrape off residual glue and glass bits from the inner frame ledge using tweezers and isopropyl alcohol.

Apply New Frame Adhesive
3 minPlace precise double-sided adhesive strips along the perimeter ledge of the phone frame.

Thread and Position the New Screen
3 minThread the new display flex cable through the chassis opening and press the screen flush into the frame.

Reconnect Display and Battery Cables
2 minSnap the display flex connector onto the motherboard, followed by reconnecting the battery press connector.

Snap the Midframe into Place
2 minReconnect the fingerprint sensor cable and press the midframe firmly back onto the body until clips engage.

Reinstall Midframe Screws
3 minDrive the Phillips #00 screws back into place to secure the midframe assembly.

2 minApply fresh adhesive strips along the back edge and press the rear cover firmly down.
