Step-by-step

Power down the device
1 minPress and hold the power button, then tap Power Off on the screen to completely shut down the phone.

Eject the SIM tray
1 minInsert a SIM eject tool into the hole near the SIM slot and push firmly until the tray pops out.

Heat the rear cover
3 minApply a heated iOpener or heat gun around the outer edges of the back panel for two minutes to soften the adhesive.

Attach a suction cup
1 minPlace a suction cup onto the lower center of the rear panel and pull upward to create a thin gap.

Slice the adhesive
4 minInsert an opening pick into the gap and carefully slide it around the perimeter to slice through the factory adhesive.

Lift out the old speaker module
2 minGrasp the loudspeaker unit with tweezers and lift it out from the lower frame cavity.

Clean the contact pads
2 minLightly dab a cotton swab with isopropyl alcohol and clean the spring contacts on the lower board.

Insert the new loudspeaker module
2 minAlign the replacement speaker inside the lower recess and press it gently into place.

Snap down the speaker housing
2 minPlace the speaker housing back over the bottom assembly and press down firmly until the clips snap shut.

Secure the speaker screws
3 minReinstall the Phillips #00 screws back into the lower speaker housing frame.

Reconnect the fingerprint sensor
2 minAlign the fingerprint sensor cable over its motherboard socket and press down softly until it clicks.

Apply fresh adhesive
3 minPlace custom pre-cut adhesive strips around the edges of the phone frame.

Press the rear cover into place
2 minAlign the back cover with the body and apply firm, even pressure along all edges to seat the seal.

Reinsert the SIM tray
