   Eject the SIM tray

   Insert a SIM eject tool into the small pinhole on the left side of the device. Push firmly until the tray pops out, then remove it completely.

   Heat the rear cover

   Use a heat gun or hair dryer on low setting to heat the perimeter of the back plastic cover for two minutes to soften the adhesive.

   Slice the rear cover adhesive

   Attach a suction cup to the lower back cover, pull gently to form a gap, and insert an opening pick. Slide the pick along all edges to sever the adhesive.

   Remove the rear cover

   Lift the rear plastic cover away from the midframe and set it aside.

   Unbolt the top motherboard bracket

   Use a Phillips #000 screwdriver to remove the 11 screws securing the plastic motherboard cover.

   Pry off the upper frame

   Insert a plastic spudger under the edge of the upper plastic motherboard frame and unclip it from the phone chassis.

   Disconnect the battery cable

   Use a plastic spudger to pry the battery flex connector straight up from the motherboard to cut power.

   Unbolt the lower loudspeaker frame

   Remove the 7 Phillips #000 screws securing the bottom loudspeaker cover.

   Remove the loudspeaker assembly

   Gently pry up the bottom loudspeaker housing using a spudger and lift it out of the chassis.

    Disconnect the display flex cable

    Use the edge of a plastic spudger to pop the display flex cable off its connector on the sub-board.

    Heat the front display edges

    Apply heat uniformly along the front screen glass perimeter for 2 to 3 minutes to loosen the screen adhesive.

    Pry up the front display

    Press a suction cup near the bottom of the front screen, pull upward, and insert a thin plastic opening pick into the seam between the glass and frame.

    Slice the front glass adhesive

    Slide the opening pick around all four sides of the front display to cut through remaining glue.

    Thread and remove the screen

    Lift the cracked screen off the frame while carefully guiding the attached flex cable through the midframe slot.

    Clean the frame border

    Dampen a cotton swab with isopropyl alcohol and scrape away residual adhesive and glass bits from the inner frame ledge.

    Apply new adhesive strips

    Lay double-sided adhesive strips along the top, bottom, and side ledges of the clean midframe.

    Install the new screen assembly

    Feed the new display's flex cable through the slot in the midframe, align the panel, and press it gently into place.

    Connect the display flex cable

    Align and snap the display flex cable onto its connector on the sub-board.

    Reconnect the battery

    Press the battery press-fit connector firmly onto the main motherboard until it clicks.

    Reinstall the loudspeaker assembly

    Place the loudspeaker unit into the bottom compartment and secure it with the 7 Phillips #000 screws.

    Reinstall the upper motherboard frame

    Snap the upper motherboard shield onto the frame and replace the 11 Phillips screws.

    Reattach the rear cover

    Apply fresh adhesive tape to the back cover border and press the cover firmly onto the phone for 1 minute.

    Reinsert the SIM tray

    Push the SIM card tray back into its slot on the left edge until flush with the body.
