Step-by-step

Power Off Phone
1 minPress and hold the power button, then tap Power Off on the screen to completely shut down the device.

Eject SIM Tray
1 minInsert a SIM eject tool into the small hole on the upper left side of the phone and push firmly to release the tray.

Warm Back Cover
2 minApply a heat gun or hair dryer along the edges of the back panel for 2 minutes to soften the rear adhesive.

Slice Rear Adhesive
3 minPress a suction cup onto the lower back cover, lift gently to create a gap, and insert an opening pick into the seam.

Remove Back Cover
2 minSlide the opening pick around all four edges to release the plastic clips and adhesive, then remove the back cover.

Unscrew Rear Shield
4 minUse a Phillips #000 screwdriver to remove the screws holding down the upper motherboard plastic shield frame.

Pry Off Frame
2 minInsert a plastic spudger under the motherboard shield and gently lift it off the chassis.

Disconnect Battery Cable
1 minUse the flat end of a spudger to pry the battery press-fit connector straight up from the motherboard.

Disconnect Power Cable
1 minLocate the power/volume button flex connector on the side of the motherboard and detach it using your spudger.

Peel Power Cable
2 minCarefully slide precision tweezers beneath the power button flex cable to separate it from the inner frame adhesive.

Remove Power Key Assembly
2 minGently lift the power button flex and integrated side key bracket out of the phone's side slot.

Insert New Power Assembly
2 minPlace the replacement power button key into the side frame cutout until it sits flush.

Adhere Power Flex
2 minAlign the flex cable along the frame wall and press firmly so the adhesive backing secures it in place.

Connect Power Cable
1 minAlign and press the power button flex cable connector down onto the motherboard socket until it clicks.

Reconnect Battery Cable
1 minPress the battery connector firmly back onto its terminal on the motherboard.

Reinstall Rear Shield
3 minPosition the plastic motherboard cover over the top assembly and secure all Phillips screws tightly.

Secure Back Cover
2 minApply new adhesive tape around the frame perimeter and press the rear cover firmly back onto the chassis.

Reinsert SIM Tray
1 minPush the SIM card tray back into its slot on the left frame until it clicks shut.
