- Disconnect the battery flex cable immediately after removing the midframe to eliminate risk of electrical shorting.

Step-by-step
- 1
Power off device
1 minPress and hold the power button on your Moto G22, then select Power Off on the screen. Ensure the device is fully shut down before proceeding.

Eject SIM tray
1 minInsert a SIM eject tool or paperclip into the small hole beside the SIM tray on the left edge. Push firmly to eject the tray and remove it completely.

Heat rear panel
3 minApply a heat gun or hairdryer around the edges of the back cover for 2 minutes to soften the perimeter adhesive.

Attach suction cup
1 minPlace a suction cup near the bottom edge of the plastic rear cover. Pull gently to create a small gap between the cover and the phone frame.

Slice rear adhesive
3 minInsert a thin plastic prying pick into the gap created by the suction cup. Carefully slide the pick along the outer edge to slice through the adhesive.

Remove rear cover
2 minLift the rear cover away from the chassis once all edges are freed. Set the rear cover aside in a safe location.

Remove midframe screws
4 minUse a Phillips #000 screwdriver to remove all 16 screws securing the inner midframe and motherboard shield.

Unclip midframe
3 minInsert a spudger between the midframe bezel and the main body frame. Pry gently around the perimeter to release the plastic clips holding it in place.

Disconnect fingerprint sensor
1 minCarefully tilt the midframe open to reveal the fingerprint reader ribbon cable. Use a spudger to pop the flex connector straight up from the motherboard.

Disconnect battery flex
1 minLocate the battery flex cable attached to the mainboard. Use the flat end of a spudger to lift the connector straight off its socket to cut power.

Disconnect display ribbon
1 minUse your spudger to gently pop the display ribbon cable connector off the lower section of the logic board.

Disconnect interconnect cable
1 minPry up the main flex cable connector that connects the logic board to the bottom daughterboard.

Unclip antenna cables
2 minUse tweezers to carefully lift the head of the antenna coaxial cable straight up from its connector on the logic board.

Disconnect camera modules
2 minDisconnect the front-facing selfie camera and rear camera flex connectors from the motherboard using a spudger.

Pry out logic board
2 minInsert a spudger beneath the bottom edge of the logic board and gently pry upward to release it from the frame chassis.
After your Motorola G22 logic board repair
Power the G22 back on and test the logic board repair function before you put every screw away. Check touch/display response, charging, cameras, buttons, and wireless as relevant to this repair.
