   Power off the device

   Press and hold the power button, then tap Power Off on the screen. Ensure the device is completely shut down before starting.

   Eject the SIM tray

   Insert a SIM eject tool into the hole next to the SIM tray on the left edge. Push firmly to eject the tray and remove it completely.

   Heat the rear cover edges

   Apply a heat gun or hair dryer around the outer edges of the plastic back cover for two minutes. This softens the adhesive securing the back cover to the frame.

   Attach a suction cup to the lower back cover

   Place a suction cup near the bottom edge of the back panel and press down to create a tight seal. Pull gently upward to create a small gap at the seam.

   Insert an opening pick into the gap

   Slide a thin plastic opening pick into the seam created by the suction cup. Take care not to insert the pick more than 5 mm to avoid internal components.

   Slice through perimeter adhesive

   Slide the plastic pick around all four edges of the phone to cut through the back cover adhesive tape. Reapply heat if you feel strong resistance.

   Lift the rear cover carefully

   Gently lift the rear cover off the frame starting from the bottom edge. Mind the fingerprint sensor cable attached near the power button.

   Unscrew the upper midframe shield

   Use a Phillips #000 screwdriver to remove the screws securing the top plastic midframe and camera cover. Keep track of all removed screws for reassembly.

   Remove the upper midframe cover

   Insert the flat end of a spudger under the edge of the plastic midframe shield and gently pry it upward. Lift the midframe off the motherboard and set it aside.

    Disconnect the battery cable

    Use the pointed end of a plastic spudger to snap the battery press connector straight up off the motherboard socket. Disconnecting power prevents short circuits.

    Disconnect the main interconnect flex cable

    Pry up the interconnect flex cable connector that runs over the battery to the lower sub-board. Fold the ribbon cable back out of the way.

    Apply isopropyl alcohol to dissolve battery adhesive

    Apply a few drops of high-concentration isopropyl alcohol along the top and side edges of the battery. Allow one to two minutes for the solvent to penetrate.

    Pry up the battery

    Insert a flat plastic card or heavy-duty spudger beneath the battery and gently pry it loose from the frame. Never use sharp metal tools or puncture the battery pack.

    Remove old adhesive from the battery housing

    Use tweezers to peel away any remaining adhesive residue from the display frame recess. Wipe the area clean with an isopropyl alcohol wipe.

    Apply fresh battery adhesive strips

    Peel the protective backing from new battery adhesive strips and lay them flat into the empty battery compartment. Press down firmly to stick.

    Install the replacement battery

    Align the new battery with the frame cutout and press it down firmly against the fresh adhesive. Ensure the battery connector reaches its motherboard socket.

    Reconnect flex cables

    Snap the main interconnect ribbon cable and the battery cable back onto their motherboard sockets. They should snap into place with a clear click.

    Reinstall the midframe cover

    Position the upper midframe over the motherboard and press gently until it clips into place. Secure all Phillips screws tightly.

    Seal and press the back cover

    Apply new adhesive tape along the frame perimeter, align the rear cover, and press firmly along all edges to secure it in place.
