   Power off the phone

   Press and hold the power button, then select Power Off on the screen to completely shut down the device.

   Heat the rear panel

   Apply a heat gun or hairdryer around the edges of the back cover for two minutes to soften the adhesive.

   Attach a suction cup

   Place a suction cup near the bottom edge of the rear plastic panel and pull up firmly to create a small gap.

   Slice the back cover adhesive

   Insert a plastic opening pick into the gap and slowly slide it along the perimeter to slice through the adhesive.

   Remove the rear panel

   Lift the rear panel away from the frame carefully once all adhesive perimeter seals are separated.

   Unscrew the upper motherboard cover

   Use a Phillips #00 screwdriver to remove the 11 screws securing the plastic motherboard bezel.

   Pry off the motherboard cover

   Insert a spudger under the edge of the upper bezel and gently lift to detach it from the frame.

   Disconnect the battery cable

   Use the flat end of a spudger to pry the battery press connector straight up from its socket.

   Unscrew the lower speaker housing

   Remove the 7 Phillips screws securing the loudspeaker assembly at the bottom of the device.

    Remove the lower speaker assembly

    Gently pry up the speaker module using tweezers or a spudger and remove it from the phone frame.

    Disconnect the main interconnect cable

    Unplug the main flex ribbon cable from both the motherboard and the bottom sub-board using a spudger.

    Pry the display ribbon cable connector straight up from the motherboard.

    Heat the front glass assembly

    Apply heat evenly across the front screen edges for three minutes to soften the screen adhesive.

    Apply suction cup to the glass

    Attach a suction cup onto the lower portion of the cracked screen and pull upward.

    Separate the display edge

    Push a thin opening pick between the display glass assembly and the outer plastic frame rim.

    Slice around the display perimeter

    Slide opening picks around all four sides of the display to break the underlying perimeter glue.

    Remove the damaged display

    Thread the display flex cable carefully through the frame slot while lifting the display off the phone.

    Clean old adhesive from the frame

    Scrape away remaining glue with a spudger and clean the bezel perimeter using isopropyl alcohol.

    Apply fresh display adhesive

    Lay down pre-cut adhesive strips precisely along the inner ledge of the front frame.

    Feed new screen flex cable

    Pass the main flex cable of the new screen panel through the open frame slot.

    Align the screen panel with the frame border and press firmly along the edges to seal the bond.

    Reconnect the display cable

    Align and press down the display flex connector onto its motherboard socket until it clicks.

    Apply rear cover adhesive, align the back cover onto the frame, and press firmly for two minutes.
