Step-by-step

Power Down the Phone
1 minPress and hold the power button, then tap Power Off on the screen. Ensure the device is fully shut down before proceeding.

Remove the SIM Card Tray
1 minInsert a SIM eject tool into the pinhole next to the SIM tray on the side of the frame. Push firmly to eject the tray and remove it.

Heat the Back Panel
3 minApply heat to the edges of the back cover with a heat gun or iOpener for 2 to 3 minutes to soften the rear adhesive.

Apply a Suction Handle
1 minPlace a suction cup onto the lower half of the rear panel near the bottom edge. Pull up gently to create a gap between the cover and frame.

Slice the Rear Adhesive
4 minInsert an opening pick into the gap and slide it along the perimeter to slice through the adhesive. Take care not to insert the pick more than 5mm to avoid internal components.

Remove the Back Cover
2 minCarefully lift the rear cover off the phone frame and place it on a clean surface.

Unscrew the Lower Speaker Housing
3 minUse a Phillips #00 screwdriver to remove the screws holding the lower speaker assembly over the daughterboard.

Pry Up the Speaker Assembly
2 minInsert the flat end of a spudger under the edge of the speaker module. Gently lever it upward to unclip it from the frame and set it aside.

Disconnect the Main Flex Cable
1 minUse a plastic spudger to gently pop the main interconnect ribbon cable off its press connector on the bottom sub-board.

Disconnect the Coaxial Antenna Cable
1 minGrasp the head of the coaxial antenna cable with tweezers and lift straight up to disconnect it from the daughterboard.

Remove the Microphone Board
2 minPry gently beneath the microphone daughterboard using a plastic spudger to detach it from the adhesive underneath.

Transfer the Rubber Mic Gasket
1 minUse tweezers to transfer the small rubber acoustic microphone sleeve from the old sub-board to the new replacement board.

Install the New Microphone Board
2 minAlign the new sub-board in the lower chassis housing and press down lightly to seat it in place.
