Eject SIM Card Tray
1 minInsert a SIM eject tool into the hole next to the SIM tray. Press firmly to pop the tray out, then remove it.

Heat Back Cover Edges
2 minUse a heat gun or hairdryer on low heat along the edges of the back cover for two minutes to soften the adhesive.

Attach Suction Cup
1 minPlace a suction cup on the lower portion of the back cover and pull upward gently to create a small gap.

Insert Opening Pick
1 minSlide a plastic opening pick into the gap between the rear panel and the phone frame.

Slice Rear Panel Adhesive
3 minSlide the pick around all four edges of the phone to release the adhesive and plastic clips.

Disconnect Fingerprint Flex Cable
1 minSlightly lift the back cover and use a spudger to pry the fingerprint sensor ribbon cable off the motherboard.

Remove Back Cover
1 minLift the rear panel entirely off the device and place it aside.

2 minRemove the Phillips #00 screws securing the plastic motherboard shield.

2 minRemove the Phillips #00 screws securing the loudspeaker assembly at the bottom of the device.

1 minUse a pry tool to lift out the bottom loudspeaker housing.

Warm Battery Adhesive
2 minApply mild heat to the center of the front screen for 60 seconds to soften the adhesive beneath the battery.

Pry Out Battery
3 minInsert a plastic card beneath the battery and slowly pry it upward until it detaches from the frame.

Heat Front Display Perimeter
2 minApply heat around the edges of the front glass for two minutes to loosen the screen adhesive.

1 minPress the suction cup onto the top half of the display glass and pull firmly to lift the screen slightly.

3 minGuide the pick along the entire perimeter of the display to slice through the adhesive completely.

3 minScrape off residual adhesive and small glass pieces from the inner rim using a flat tool and isopropyl alcohol.

2 minSnap the fingerprint sensor cable back into place, then press the back cover firmly onto the phone.
