Step-by-step
- 1
Power off the phone
1 minPress and hold the power button, then select Power Off on the screen. Ensure the device is fully shut down before proceeding.

Remove SIM card tray
1 minInsert a SIM eject tool into the hole on the left edge of the phone. Push inward to eject the SIM tray and pull it out.

Heat the back cover
2 minApply continuous heat to the outer edges of the back cover using a heat gun for approximately 2 minutes to soften the adhesive.

Separate back panel adhesive
3 minAttach a suction cup near the bottom, lift up slightly, and insert an opening pick into the gap. Slide the pick around the perimeter to release all retaining clips.

Disconnect fingerprint sensor flex
1 minOpen the back cover like a book to expose the internal cables. Use a spudger to pop the fingerprint sensor flex cable off the main motherboard.

Remove loudspeaker screws
2 minUnscrew the seven Phillips #000 screws securing the bottom loudspeaker assembly to the phone chassis.

Detach loudspeaker module
1 minInsert the flat tip of a spudger under the loudspeaker housing and pry it up to remove it from the bottom compartment.

Disconnect main interconnect flex
1 minPry up the main interconnect ribbon cable connector from the daughterboard using a plastic spudger.

Unplug coaxial antenna cable
1 minUse precision tweezers to gently lift the signal coaxial antenna cable connector straight up off the daughterboard.

Remove microphone daughterboard
2 minPry beneath the lower daughterboard containing the primary microphone using a spudger and remove it from the phone.

Install replacement daughterboard
1 minAlign the new sub-board with the microphone in the lower frame and press down firmly to set it in place.

Attach coaxial antenna cable
1 minAlign the head of the coaxial antenna cable over its socket on the new daughterboard and press gently until it snaps into place.

Reconnect main interconnect flex
1 minAlign the main ribbon connector over the daughterboard socket and press down until you feel it click.

Reinstall loudspeaker housing
2 minPosition the loudspeaker module over the bottom board and secure it with the seven Phillips #000 screws.

Connect fingerprint sensor cable
1 minHold the back cover close to the chassis and snap the fingerprint sensor flex connector onto the motherboard socket.

Seal the back cover
2 minAlign the back cover with the frame edges and press down around all borders until the cover snaps securely into place.

Reinsert SIM card tray
1 minPush the SIM card tray back into its slot on the left edge until it sits completely flush with the housing.
