   Power off the device

   Press and hold the power button, then tap Power Off on the screen. Ensure the device is completely powered down before proceeding.

   Eject the SIM card tray

   Insert a SIM eject tool into the hole next to the tray on the left edge. Push firmly to pop out the tray and remove it.

   Heat the rear cover edges

   Use a heat gun or hairdryer to apply mild heat around the perimeter of the back cover for two minutes. This softens the adhesive holding the plastic panel.

   Insert an opening pick

   Insert a plastic opening pick into the thin seam between the back cover and the display bezel.

   Unclip the back panel

   Slide the pick along the outer edges to release the plastic retaining clips surrounding the frame.

   Slightly lift the back cover

   Gently hinge open the back cover from the right side like a book. Do not pull it away entirely, as the fingerprint cable is still connected.

   Unscrew the top motherboard shield

   Use a precision Phillips screwdriver to remove the screws holding the plastic upper bracket.

   Use tweezers to unhook and remove the upper bracket covering the motherboard.

    Remove the single Phillips screw securing the charging port daughterboard to the inner frame.

    Remove the old charging port board

    Pry beneath the daughterboard with a spudger and remove it from the bottom recess.

    Align the replacement charging port board into the lower frame housing until it sits flush.

    Reinstall the upper motherboard bracket

    Place the plastic motherboard cover back in position and secure it with its screws.

    Align the rear panel over the frame and press firmly around all edges until every clip engages.
