Step-by-step

Power off the phone
1 minPress and hold the power button, then select Power Off on the screen.

Eject the SIM tray
1 minInsert a SIM eject pin into the tray hole on the side frame and pull out the tray.

Heat the back panel
2 minUse a heat gun or hair dryer along the back edges for two minutes to soften the adhesive.

Apply suction cup
1 minPlace a suction cup near the bottom edge of the back panel and pull gently to create a small gap.

Slice the back cover adhesive
3 minInsert a plastic opening pick into the seam and slide it along the perimeter to cut the adhesive.

Remove the back panel

Unscrew the upper motherboard cover

2 minPeel off the protective adhesive backing on the replacement volume flex and press it firmly into the side frame.

Reconnect the volume flex
1 minAlign the volume button flex connector over its logic board socket and press down firmly until it clicks.

Reconnect the battery cable
1 minPress the battery connector straight down into its motherboard socket.

Secure the motherboard bracket
3 minPosition the upper bracket back over the motherboard and tighten the Phillips #000 screws.

Apply back cover adhesive
2 minLay fresh pre-cut adhesive strips along the perimeter edges of the rear housing.

Reattach the back cover
2 minAlign the back cover with the frame and press firmly along all sides to seal the device.

Reinsert the SIM tray
1 minSlide the SIM card tray back into its slot until it sits flush against the frame.
