Safety

Step-by-step

Remove SIM Tray
1 minInsert a SIM eject tool into the pinhole on the left side of the frame and push firmly to eject the tray.

Heat Back Cover
2 minApply heat to the edges of the rear panel with a heat gun on low power for 2 minutes to soften the adhesive.

Attach Suction Cup
1 minPlace a suction cup on the lower third of the rear panel and pull upward gently to create a slight seam.

Slice Rear Panel Adhesive
4 minInsert a plastic opening pick into the gap and slice carefully along all four sides to separate the back cover.

Remove Back Cover
1 minLift the rear panel clear off the frame and place it on a clean workspace mat.

Unscrew Motherboard Shield
3 minUse a Phillips #000 screwdriver to remove the screws securing the upper plastic motherboard shield.

Detach Motherboard Shield
2 minPry up the edges of the upper motherboard shield using a spudger and lift it out of the chassis.

Disconnect Battery Cable
1 minUse the flat end of a plastic spudger to pry the battery flex connector directly up off the motherboard.

Disconnect Power Button Flex
2 minUnlatch the ZIF connector or pop off the press-fit connection securing the power button flex cable to the motherboard.

Peel Power Flex Cable
3 minGently slide precision tweezers under the power button flex cable to separate its adhesive backing from the inner frame.

Remove Power Button Switch
2 minUse tweezers to carefully lift the physical power switch contacts out of their recess in the phone frame.

Position New Power Flex
3 minAlign the replacement power button flex cable into the frame cutout and press down lightly to set the adhesive.

Reconnect Flex and Battery
2 minPlug the power button flex cable back into its motherboard connector, followed by press-fitting the battery cable.
