Step-by-step
- 1
Power Off the Phone
1 minPress and hold the power button, then select Power Off on the screen. Ensure the device is completely powered down before starting.

Eject the SIM Tray
1 minInsert a SIM eject tool into the hole next to the SIM tray on the left edge. Push firmly to pop the tray out and remove it.

Heat the Back Cover
3 minUse a heat gun or iOpener around the outer edges of the back panel for two minutes. This softens the adhesive holding the back cover to the frame.

Apply Suction Cup
2 minPlace a suction cup near the bottom edge of the back panel and pull up gently to create a small gap.

Slice the Back Cover Adhesive
4 minInsert an opening pick into the gap created by the suction cup. Slide the pick along the bottom and side edges to cut through the adhesive.

Lift Off the Back Cover
2 minCarefully pivot the back cover open from the side. Remove the rear panel completely and place it aside.

Unscrew Lower Speaker Module
3 minUse a Phillips #00 screwdriver to remove the screws securing the lower loudspeaker housing.

Pry Out the Loudspeaker
2 minInsert a plastic spudger under the edge of the loudspeaker module. Carefully pry up and remove the speaker from the bottom frame.

Disconnect Interconnect Flex Cable
2 minUse the flat end of a spudger to pry the main interconnect ribbon cable connector straight up off the sub-board.

Disconnect Antenna Cables
2 minUse precision tweezers to gently snap off the coaxial antenna cables connected to the microphone sub-board.

Unscrew the Sub-Board
1 minRemove the single Phillips screw holding the microphone sub-board to the phone chassis.

Remove the Microphone Sub-Board
2 minInsert a spudger under the edge of the sub-board and lift it out of the chassis recess.

Insert New Microphone Sub-Board
2 minAlign the replacement microphone sub-board over the bottom recess and press it gently into place.

Secure Sub-Board Screw
1 minReinstall the Phillips screw to fix the new microphone sub-board firmly to the frame.

Reconnect Antenna and Flex Cables
3 minAlign and press down the coaxial antenna cables onto their connectors, then snap the main flex cable down onto the sub-board.

Reinstall Loudspeaker Assembly
3 minSet the loudspeaker module over the sub-board and tighten the securing screws using a Phillips #00 screwdriver.

Apply New Back Cover Adhesive
4 minClean remaining old adhesive with isopropyl alcohol, stick down new pre-cut adhesive strips around the frame, and press the back cover back into place.
