Step-by-step

Power off device
1 minPress and hold the power button, then tap Power Off on the screen. Ensure the device is fully shut down before proceeding.

Remove SIM tray
1 minInsert a SIM eject tool into the pinhole on the left edge of the phone. Push firmly to eject the tray, then slide it out.

Heat rear cover
2 minApply a heat gun or hair dryer around the outer perimeter of the back cover for two minutes to soften the adhesive.

Attach suction cup
1 minPlace a suction cup on the lower portion of the rear panel. Pull up gently to create a small gap between the panel and frame.

Insert opening pick
1 minInsert a plastic opening pick into the gap created by the suction cup at the bottom edge.

Slice perimeter adhesive
3 minSlide the pick carefully around all four sides of the phone to cut through the frame adhesive.

Unclip back panel
2 minGently hinge open the rear cover from the right side. Do not pull it away completely yet.

Disconnect fingerprint cable
2 minUse the flat end of a spudger to pry up the fingerprint sensor ribbon connector from the motherboard socket.

Unscrew loudspeaker cover
3 minUse a Phillips #00 screwdriver to remove the screws holding down the lower speaker assembly.

Remove old speaker
2 minWedge a plastic spudger beneath the edge of the loudspeaker module and pry it out of the phone chassis.

Clean speaker recess
2 minClear any leftover adhesive or dust from the speaker compartment using tweezers and a light wipe of isopropyl alcohol.

Insert new speaker
2 minPosition the replacement loudspeaker module into the lower cavity and press down until it sits flush.

Secure speaker screws
3 minReinstall and tighten the Phillips #00 screws to hold the new loudspeaker securely in place.

Reconnect fingerprint cable
2 minAlign the fingerprint sensor flex connector over its motherboard socket and press down firmly until it clicks.

Apply rear adhesive
3 minLay fresh double-sided adhesive strips along the perimeter frame of the phone body.

Reattach rear cover
2 minAlign the back cover with the frame and press firmly around all edges to secure the seal.

Reinsert SIM tray
1 minSlide the SIM card tray back into its slot until it sits completely flush with the outer frame.
