Step-by-step

Power off the Moto G15 Power
1 minPress and hold the power button, then select Power Off on the screen. Ensure the device is entirely shut down before starting.

Eject the SIM card tray
1 minInsert a SIM eject tool into the small hole on the side SIM tray. Push firmly to release the tray and remove it from the phone.

Heat the rear glass panel
2 minApply heat around the perimeter of the back cover with a heat gun for 2 minutes to soften the adhesive.

Attach a suction cup to the rear panel
1 minPlace a suction cup near the bottom edge of the back panel and press down to firmly attach it.

Insert an opening pick into the seam
2 minPull up on the suction cup to create a slight gap, then slide an opening pick between the rear panel and frame.

Slice the back cover adhesive
3 minSlide the opening pick along all four edges of the back panel to separate the adhesive seal.

Lift and remove the back cover
1 minCarefully tilt and lift the rear panel off the phone frame.

Unscrew the upper motherboard bracket
3 minRemove the Phillips #000 screws securing the plastic motherboard protection bracket.

Remove the motherboard bracket
2 minPry up the edges of the upper bracket using a plastic spudger and lift it out of the chassis.

Disconnect the battery flex cable
1 minUse the edge of a plastic spudger to pry the battery connector straight up from its motherboard socket.

Disconnect the display flex connector
1 minPry the display flex cable connector off the motherboard to detach the screen electronics.

Heat the front display assembly
3 minWarm the front screen edges using a heat gun for 2 to 3 minutes to loosen the screen adhesive.

Pry up the front screen assembly
4 minInsert an opening pick under the front glass and slide it along the edges to separate the display from the frame.

Remove the broken display panel
2 minFeed the display flex cable through the slot in the frame and lift the screen away.

Clean the frame adhesive channel
4 minScrape off all old adhesive residue from the frame perimeter and wipe it clean using isopropyl alcohol.

Apply fresh display adhesive
3 minLay down strips of fresh double-sided adhesive along the inner perimeter ledge of the frame.

Mount the replacement screen
3 minThread the new display flex cable through the frame slot and press the new screen firmly into the adhesive.

Reconnect display and battery cables
2 minAlign and press down on the display flex connector and battery connector until they snap into place.

Reattach the bracket and back cover
3 minScrew the motherboard bracket back down, then press the rear cover firmly against the frame to seal it.
