Step-by-step

Power off the device
1 minPress and hold the Power button, then tap Power Off on the screen. Ensure the phone is completely shut down before proceeding.

Eject SIM card tray
1 minInsert a SIM eject tool into the pinhole next to the card tray. Push firmly until the tray pops out, then pull it completely out of the frame.

Heat the rear cover
2 minUse a heat gun or hair dryer on a low setting to warm the outer edges of the rear panel for two minutes. This softens the perimeter adhesive seal.

Attach suction cup
1 minPlace a suction cup onto the bottom edge of the rear panel, near the charging port. Press down to secure a tight seal.

Insert plastic opening pick
2 minPull upward gently on the suction cup handle to create a tiny seam. Insert a thin plastic opening pick into the gap.

Slice rear panel adhesive
3 minSlide the plastic pick along all four edges of the back cover to cut through the adhesive. Apply additional heat if you encounter strong resistance.

Remove the back cover
1 minLift the rear panel off the phone body and place it carefully on your work mat.

Unscrew lower speaker assembly
3 minUse a Phillips #000 screwdriver to remove the screws securing the loudspeaker module at the bottom of the device.

Pry up the loudspeaker
2 minInsert the flat tip of a spudger underneath the edge of the loudspeaker module. Carefully pry upward to free it from the frame.

Clean contact points
2 minLightly moisten a cotton swab with 99% isopropyl alcohol and wipe the gold contact pads on the daughterboard. Allow the area to dry fully.

Install new loudspeaker module
2 minAlign the replacement loudspeaker module with the lower sub-board cavity. Press down gently until it sits flat inside the frame.

Fasten speaker screws
2 minReinstall and tighten the Phillips screws to secure the new loudspeaker assembly in place.

Apply replacement adhesive
3 minPeel away residual adhesive strips from the perimeter of the frame. Apply fresh pre-cut double-sided tape along the edges.

Reattach the rear panel
2 minPosition the rear cover back onto the frame and press firmly around all edges to secure the adhesive bond.

Reinsert the SIM tray
1 minSlide the SIM card tray back into its slot on the side of the phone until it sits flush.
