Step-by-step

Power Off Phone
1 minPress and hold the power button, then select Power Off to completely shut down the device before starting.

Eject SIM Card Tray
1 minInsert a SIM eject tool into the tray hole on the left edge of the frame and push gently to release the SIM tray.

Heat Back Cover
2 minUse a heat gun or hairdryer set on low heat along the edges of the back panel for two minutes to soften the adhesive.

Attach Suction Cup
1 minPress a suction cup near the bottom edge of the back panel and pull upward to create a thin separation seam.

Slice Rear Adhesive
3 minInsert a plastic opening pick into the gap and slice carefully along all four edges to release the back cover.

Remove Back Panel
1 minLift the rear plastic panel off the phone body and place it face-down on your work mat.

Unscrew Loudspeaker Module
2 minRemove the Phillips #000 screws holding the lower speaker module housing over the bottom daughterboard.

Remove Loudspeaker Assembly
1 minInsert the flat end of a spudger beneath the loudspeaker assembly and pop it out of the lower frame.

Disconnect Interconnect Cable
1 minPry the primary flex cable connector straight up off the sub-board using a plastic spudger.

Disconnect Antenna Cable
1 minUse tweezers to carefully pry up the small round coaxial antenna connector from the lower daughterboard.

Remove Defective Daughterboard
2 minGently lever the sub-board (containing the primary microphone) out of the chassis recess using a spudger.

Transfer Microphone Gasket
1 minCheck the old microphone port for a rubber sealing gasket and transfer it onto the replacement board's microphone pin.

Install New Microphone Board
2 minAlign the replacement sub-board with the USB-C port opening and press it flat into the chassis.

Reconnect Antenna and Flex Cable
2 minSnap the coaxial antenna head back onto its terminal, then press down the main flex cable connector until it clicks.

Reinstall Loudspeaker Assembly
2 minPosition the loudspeaker housing back over the daughterboard and drive the Phillips #000 screws until snug.

Seal Back Cover
3 minApply new adhesive strips along the rim of the frame, press the rear panel into place, and reinstall the SIM tray.
