Safety
- Wear heat-resistant gloves or safety glasses when heating the rear panel.
- Do not puncture or bend the battery located above the lower sub-board.
- Use an anti-static wrist strap to prevent electrostatic discharge damage to internal components.

Step-by-step

Power Down Device
1 minPress and hold the power button, then select Power Off to completely turn off the phone.

Eject SIM Card Tray
1 minInsert a SIM eject tool into the hole beside the SIM tray on the left edge and push to pop out the tray.

Heat Rear Cover
2 minApply heat around the edges of the back panel using a heat gun or hairdryer for two minutes to soften the adhesive.

Insert Opening Pick
2 minAttach a suction cup near the bottom edge, pull upward, and insert a plastic opening pick into the gap.

Slice Back Cover Adhesive
3 minSlide the opening pick around all four edges of the back panel to cut through the perimeter adhesive.

Remove Rear Panel
1 minLift the rear panel completely away from the phone body and place it on a clean surface.

Unscrew Speaker Cover
2 minUse a Phillips #00 screwdriver to remove the seven screws holding the bottom speaker module.

Pry Up Speaker Module
1 minInsert a plastic spudger beneath the edge of the speaker module and gently lift it out of the frame.

Disconnect Main Flex Cable
1 minUse the flat end of a spudger to lever up and disconnect the main interconnect flex cable from the sub-board.

Disconnect Antenna Coaxial Cable
1 minGently unclip the antenna cable connector from the right side of the charging sub-board using fine tweezers.

Remove Damaged Sub-Board
2 minSlide a thin plastic opening tool under the charging sub-board and lift it out of the bottom cavity.

Position Replacement Sub-Board
1 minPlace the new charging port sub-board into the recessed bottom area of the phone frame.

Reconnect Antenna Cable
1 minAlign and gently press the antenna cable connector onto its socket on the new sub-board until it snaps into place.

Reconnect Main Flex Cable
1 minAlign the press-fit main flex cable connector over the sub-board header and press down firmly to secure it.

Replace Speaker Module
1 minSet the speaker module back over the sub-board and press down gently until it aligns flush with the frame.

Secure Speaker Screws
2 minReinstall and tighten the seven Phillips #00 screws to anchor the speaker module.

Apply Frame Adhesive
3 minPlace pre-cut replacement adhesive tape along the outer perimeter of the phone housing.

Reattach Rear Panel
2 minAlign the back cover with the frame and press firmly along the perimeter to secure the adhesive bond.

Reinsert SIM Tray
1 minSlide the SIM card tray back into its slot on the left side of the device until it sits flush.
After your Motorola G13 charging port repair
