Step-by-step

Power off device and remove SIM tray
1 minTurn off your Motorola G100 completely. Insert a SIM eject tool into the hole on the left side to pop out the SIM card tray.

Heat the back cover edges
2 minApply a heated iOpener or heat gun around the edges of the back panel for two minutes to soften the adhesive.

Apply suction cup to back panel
1 minPress a suction cup near the bottom edge of the rear glass panel and pull upward to create a small gap.

Insert opening pick into gap
1 minSlide a thin plastic opening pick into the seam opened by the suction cup.

Slice back panel adhesive
4 minSlide the pick around all four edges of the phone to cut through the perimeter tape holding the cover.

Lift and remove back cover
2 minCarefully tilt the back panel up and set it aside, making sure not to tear any attached sensor ribbon cables.

Unscrew lower speaker assembly
3 minUse a Phillips #00 screwdriver to remove the screws securing the bottom loudspeaker cover.

Remove lower speaker housing
2 minInsert the flat end of a spudger under the speaker module edge and lift it out of the frame.

Disconnect the battery flex cable
1 minPry the battery connector straight up from the motherboard to cut power to the device.

Disconnect interconnect flex cable
2 minUse a spudger to pop open the lower interconnect ribbon cable attached to the daughterboard.

Disconnect antenna coaxial cables
2 minUse precision tweezers to carefully lift the small antenna head straight off the daughterboard socket.

Remove daughterboard retaining screw
1 minUnscrew the single Phillips screw securing the sub-board to the phone frame.

Remove the defective microphone daughterboard
2 minPry gently beneath the bottom daughterboard containing the microphone and remove it from the phone chassis.

Insert the replacement daughterboard
2 minPosition the new microphone daughterboard into the lower housing recess and press it flush into place.

Secure daughterboard screw and antenna cable
3 minReinstall the retaining screw and snap the coaxial antenna connector onto its board socket using tweezers.

Reconnect interconnect and battery cables
2 minPress the interconnect ribbon connector and main battery connector firmly back into their respective sockets.

Reinstall loudspeaker module
3 minAlign the speaker assembly over the sub-board and tighten the Phillips screws to secure it.

Re-seal and attach back cover
4 minApply fresh pre-cut adhesive to the phone border and press the back cover firmly onto the chassis.
