Step-by-step

Power off device and remove SIM tray
2 minCompletely turn off your Moto G100. Insert a SIM eject tool into the hole on the left edge and pull out the SIM card tray.

Heat rear cover edges
3 minUse a heat gun or hair dryer on medium power to warm the outer edges of the rear panel for two minutes to loosen the adhesive.

Attach suction cup
1 minPress a suction cup firmly onto the lower back cover just above the USB-C port.

Create an opening gap
2 minPull up gently on the suction cup while supporting the frame to form a slight gap between the rear cover and phone chassis.

Slice rear panel adhesive
4 minInsert a plastic prying pick into the gap and slice along all four edges to separate the adhesive seal.

Remove rear cover
2 minCarefully lift the rear panel off the frame and place it safely on your workspace mat.

Remove lower speaker screws
3 minUse a Phillips #000 screwdriver to remove all screws securing the bottom loudspeaker cover.

Pry up loudspeaker module
2 minInsert a plastic spudger beneath the edge of the loudspeaker housing and lift it out of the phone body.

Disconnect battery cable
2 minUse a plastic spudger to snap off the battery connector from the motherboard to cut power before proceeding.

Disconnect interconnect ribbon cable
2 minPry up the lower end of the flex ribbon cable connected to the bottom charging port daughterboard.

Disconnect coaxial antenna cables
2 minUse precision tweezers to lift and disconnect the antenna connectors from the daughterboard.

Remove faulty daughterboard
2 minSlide a flat spudger under the charging port daughterboard and lift it out of its recessed bay.

Install replacement daughterboard
2 minPlace the new Moto G100 charging port board into the lower chassis bay and press gently to seat it.

Reconnect antenna coaxial cables
3 minAlign the coaxial antenna heads over their board sockets and press down firmly until they snap into place.

Reconnect interconnect ribbon cable
2 minAlign the ribbon connector with the daughterboard socket and press until it securely clicks shut.

Reconnect battery press-connector
1 minSnap the battery flex cable back into its motherboard terminal.

Position lower speaker housing
2 minSet the lower loudspeaker assembly back into place over the charging board compartment.

Secure loudspeaker screws
3 minFasten the Phillips #000 screws back into the loudspeaker housing until snug.

Clean frame adhesive residue
4 minScrape away old adhesive tape remnants along the frame edges using a plastic tool and isopropyl alcohol.

Apply adhesive and seal rear cover
3 minApply new perimeter adhesive tape to the frame, align the rear cover, and press down firmly around all edges.
