Power Down Phone
1 minTurn off your Motorola G100 completely before beginning disassembly.

Eject SIM Card Tray
1 minInsert a SIM eject tool into the hole on the left edge and remove the tray.

Heat Rear Cover
2 minApply a heated iOpener or heat gun to the edges of the back panel for two minutes.

1 minPress a suction cup near the bottom edge of the rear cover and pull up gently to create a small gap.

1 minSlide an opening pick into the gap created under the plastic rear panel.

Slice Bottom Adhesive
2 minSlide the pick along the bottom edge to cut through the factory adhesive seal.

Slice Side Edge Adhesive
2 minMove the opening pick carefully along the right edge toward the top corner.

Slice Remaining Adhesive
2 minCut through the adhesive along the top and left edges of the rear cover.

Remove Rear Cover
1 minLift the rear cover off the chassis and set it aside.

Unscrew Motherboard Shield
3 minRemove the Phillips screws securing the plastic upper motherboard shield and NFC antenna.

1 minPry up and remove the plastic upper shield from the frame.

Disconnect Battery Cable
1 minUse a plastic spudger to pry the battery press connector straight up from its socket.

Unscrew Loudspeaker
2 minRemove the Phillips screws holding down the lower loudspeaker module.

Remove Loudspeaker
1 minLift the loudspeaker module out of the lower chassis to clear space around the battery.

Apply Isopropyl Alcohol
2 minDispense a few drops of high-concentration isopropyl alcohol around the battery edges to weaken the glue.

Pry Out Old Battery
3 minInsert a wide plastic opening card beneath the battery and gently lever it upward.

Clean Battery Well
2 minWipe away remaining adhesive residue inside the frame using isopropyl alcohol.

Apply Battery Adhesive
2 minPlace new double-sided adhesive strips onto the recessed battery bay.

Install New Battery
2 minLower the new battery into the bay and press down firmly to secure it.

Reconnect Battery Cable
1 minAlign the battery flex cable over its socket and press down until it snaps into place.

Reinstall Loudspeaker
2 minSeat the loudspeaker into the lower frame and tighten its securing screws.

Reinstall Motherboard Shield
3 minPosition the upper shield over the motherboard and reinsert all Phillips screws.

Apply Back Cover Adhesive
2 minPosition fresh pre-cut adhesive tape along the inner perimeter of the rear chassis.

Seal Rear Cover
2 minAlign the rear cover with the frame and press firmly along all edges to bond the adhesive.

Reinsert SIM Tray
1 minPush the SIM card tray back into its slot on the side of the phone.
After your Motorola G100 battery replacement
