Step-by-step

Power off the Moto G10
1 minPress and hold the power button, then select Power Off on the screen to completely shut down the device.

Eject the SIM card tray
1 minInsert a SIM eject tool into the hole next to the tray on the left edge of the phone. Push firmly to eject the tray and set it aside.

Warm the rear panel edges
2 minUse a heat gun or hair dryer on low heat for 1 to 2 minutes along the perimeter of the back cover. Keep the heat source moving constantly to prevent damaging the plastic.

Pry open the rear cover seam
3 minInsert an opening pick into the seam between the back cover and the phone frame near the bottom corner. Gently slide the pick along the edge to separate the adhesive and unlatch clips.

Unclip and lift the rear cover
2 minTrace around all sides with a plastic spudger to release the remaining clips. Carefully hinge the rear cover open from the right side without pulling on the fingerprint sensor cable.

Disconnect the fingerprint sensor cable
2 minUse the pointed end of a spudger to gently pop the fingerprint sensor press connector straight up from the motherboard. Set the rear cover aside.

Unscrew the lower loudspeaker assembly
3 minUse a Phillips #000 screwdriver to remove the screws securing the bottom loudspeaker cover module. Store the screws together so they do not get mixed up.

Remove the old loudspeaker module
2 minInsert a spudger under the lip of the lower speaker assembly and pry it upward out of the chassis recess.

Install the new loudspeaker module
2 minAlign the replacement speaker assembly into the lower compartment of the phone. Press down firmly until it sits flush against the frame contacts.

Secure the speaker housing screws
3 minPlace the lower housing cover over the new speaker module. Reinstall and tighten the Phillips #000 screws until snug.

Reconnect the fingerprint sensor
2 minHold the rear cover near the motherboard socket and press the fingerprint sensor flex connector straight down until it snaps into place.

Reattach rear cover and SIM tray
2 minAlign the rear cover with the chassis and press firmly along all edges until the plastic clips snap shut. Reinsert the SIM card tray into the slot.
After your Motorola G10 speaker repair
