Step-by-step

Power Off Phone
1 minTurn off your Motorola Moto G10 completely before beginning disassembly. Press and hold the power button, then select Power Off.

Eject SIM Tray
1 minInsert a SIM eject tool into the hole on the left edge of the phone. Push inward to pop out the SIM tray and remove it.

Heat Back Cover Edges
2 minApply warmth to the perimeter of the back cover for two minutes using a hair dryer to soften the internal clips and adhesive.

Attach Suction Cup
1 minPlace a suction cup near the bottom edge of the back cover and press down to create a firm seal.

Insert Opening Pick
2 minPull up gently on the suction cup to create a small gap, then insert a plastic opening pick under the back cover edge.

Unclip Perimeter Clips
3 minSlide the plastic pick along the sides and top of the phone to release the plastic retaining clips.

Lift Back Cover Gently
1 minTilt the back cover open slowly from the right side like a book. Do not pull it away completely yet, as the fingerprint cable is still connected.

Disconnect Fingerprint Sensor
1 minUse the flat end of a plastic spudger to pry the fingerprint sensor flex cable connector straight up from the motherboard.

Remove Back Cover
1 minLift the rear plastic cover completely off the frame and set it aside in a safe spot.

Unscrew Motherboard Cover
3 minRemove the Phillips #000 screws securing the plastic motherboard bracket over the top section of the phone.

Remove Motherboard Cover
1 minInsert a spudger under the edge of the plastic motherboard cover and lift it off the chassis.

Disconnect Battery Cable
1 minPry up the battery press connector from the motherboard using a plastic spudger to cut off all power.

Apply Isopropyl Alcohol
2 minDrip a few drops of high-concentration isopropyl alcohol along the top and side edges of the battery well to soften the glue.

Peel Back Adhesive Release Film
1 minUse tweezers to peel back the clear plastic protective film covering the battery pull tabs.

Pull First Adhesive Strip
2 minGrasp the first adhesive tab and pull it out slowly at a low angle parallel to the phone body until it fully releases.

Pull Second Adhesive Strip
2 minGrasp the remaining adhesive pull tab and stretch it out evenly until the remaining tape comes out.

Pry Up Old Battery
2 minInsert a flat plastic card under the edge of the battery and gently lift to dislodge any remaining adhesive.

Remove Old Battery
1 minLift the depleted battery out of the frame and place it in a safe container for proper recycling.

Clean Battery Well
2 minWipe away leftover adhesive residue inside the battery compartment using a microfiber cloth dampened with isopropyl alcohol.

Apply New Adhesive Strips
2 minStick fresh battery adhesive strips onto the bottom of your replacement battery, removing the protective backing.

Set New Battery in Place
1 minAlign the new battery inside the frame recess and press down firmly to secure the adhesive bond.

Connect Battery Flex Cable
1 minAlign the battery connector over its motherboard socket and press down firmly until it clicks into place.

Reinstall Motherboard Cover
1 minPosition the top plastic cover over the motherboard assembly and press down to align the screw holes.

Secure Cover Screws
3 minThread and tighten the Phillips #000 screws back into the motherboard cover until snug.

Reconnect Fingerprint Cable
2 minHold the back cover near the phone body and snap the fingerprint sensor flex cable onto its motherboard socket.

Snap Back Cover Shut
2 minAlign the back cover over the frame and press firmly around all edges until all clips click into place.

Reinsert SIM Tray
1 minSlide the SIM card tray back into the slot on the left side of the device until it sits flush.
