Remove the SIM Card Tray
1 minInsert a SIM ejector tool into the pinhole on the left side of the device. Press firmly to pop out the tray and slide it out completely.

Heat the Back Cover Edges
2 minApply a heat gun or hair dryer on low heat along the edges of the plastic back cover for 1 to 2 minutes to soften retaining clips and adhesive.

Pry Open Back Cover Seam
2 minInsert a thin plastic opening tool between the plastic back cover and the frame near the SIM tray slot. Carefully twist to disengage the first clip.

Unclip the Back Cover
3 minSlide a plastic opening pick around the entire perimeter of the phone to pop all remaining retaining clips free.

Disconnect Fingerprint Reader Cable
2 minGently tilt the back cover open without lifting it fully away. Use tweezers or a spudger to detach the fingerprint sensor flex cable from the motherboard.

Unscrew Upper Motherboard Cover
3 minUse a Phillips #000 screwdriver to remove all screws holding the top motherboard shield in place.

1 minPry up the loudspeaker module using a spudger and lift it out of the phone chassis.

Disconnect Interconnect Ribbon Cable
2 minUse a spudger to disconnect the main interconnect flex cable from both the motherboard and lower sub-board.

1 minPry up the display cable press connector located near the bottom of the main board area.

Heat the Front Glass Perimeter
3 minApply heat around all four front edges of the screen for 2 to 3 minutes to soften the frame adhesive.

Attach Suction Cup to Glass
1 minPress a suction cup firmly onto the upper portion of the display assembly near the top speaker ear piece.

Slice Front Display Adhesive
4 minPull up on the suction cup to create a gap, then insert an opening pick and slide it around the screen border to cut the adhesive.

Lift and Remove Damaged Screen
2 minSeparate the screen panel from the frame, threading the display flex cable through the slot in the middle frame.

Clean Old Frame Adhesive
