   Turn Off Device

   Press and hold the power button, then select Power Off on the screen. Ensure the phone is completely shut down before proceeding.

   Remove SIM Card Tray

   Insert a SIM eject tool into the small hole on the left side of the phone. Push firmly to pop out the SIM tray and remove it completely.

   Warm Rear Cover Edges

   Apply a heat gun or hair dryer along the edges of the back cover for two minutes. This softens the plastic snaps and light adhesive.

   Insert Opening Pick

   Insert a thin plastic opening pick into the seam between the rear cover and the front bezel near the SIM card slot.

   Unclip Rear Housing

   Slide the opening pick around the entire perimeter of the phone. Gently pop internal plastic clips loose along all four edges.

   Slightly Elevate Rear Cover

   Lift the rear cover slightly from the left edge like a book. Do not pull it away completely because the fingerprint sensor cable is still connected.

   Remove Frame Screws

   Use a Phillips #000 screwdriver to remove the screws securing the upper plastic motherboard cover.

   Detach Plastic Shield

   Insert a spudger beneath the plastic motherboard cover and lift it free from the phone frame.

   Disconnect Fingerprint Sensor Cable

   Use the flat edge of a spudger to lever the fingerprint reader flex cable connector straight up from the motherboard.

    Disconnect Battery Connector

    Pry the battery press connector straight up off its motherboard socket using a plastic spudger to cut power.

    Unplug Lower Interconnect Cable

    Disconnect the main interconnect flex cable that runs over the battery surface using a plastic tool.

    Apply Isopropyl Alcohol

    Apply a few drops of high-concentration isopropyl alcohol around the outer edges of the battery. Allow one minute for it to weaken the adhesive underneath.

    Heat Screen Side Frame

    Flip the device over and warm the center of the display screen for 90 seconds to loosen the adhesive backing behind the battery.

    Pry Up Battery

    Insert a plastic card or flat spudger under the bottom corner of the battery. Slowly pry upward to break the underlying adhesive bond.

    Lift Out Damaged Battery

    Lift the battery out of the frame housing completely and set it aside safely.

    Clean Frame Recess

    Wipe away old adhesive residues and dirt inside the battery well using a lint-free cloth moistened with isopropyl alcohol.

    Apply New Adhesive

    Peel the protective backing off new battery adhesive strips and lay them flat into the empty battery compartment.

    Press New Battery into Place

    Position the replacement battery into the frame and press down firmly across its surface to set the adhesive.

    Reconnect Interconnect Cable

    Align and snap the main ribbon cable back onto its sockets on the upper motherboard and lower sub-board.

    Plug In New Battery

    Align the battery press connector over its motherboard socket and press straight down until it clicks into place.

    Attach Fingerprint Flex Cable

    Hold the rear cover close to the frame and snap the fingerprint sensor flex cable into its socket.

    Secure Plastic Frame Shield

    Set the motherboard cover back in position and reinstall all Phillips #000 screws securely.

    Snap Rear Cover Closed

    Align the rear cover onto the chassis and press firmly around all edges until the plastic clips snap shut.

    Reinsert SIM Card Tray

    Slide the SIM card tray back into its slot on the side of the phone until flush with the body.
