Step-by-step

Power off the phone
1 minPress and hold the power button, then tap Power Off on the screen to completely shut down the device.

Remove the SIM tray
1 minInsert a SIM eject tool into the hole next to the tray on the left frame edge and remove the tray.

Heat the back cover
2 minApply heat with a heat gun or hair dryer along all four edges of the back cover for two minutes to soften the adhesive.

Attach a suction cup
1 minPlace a suction cup near the bottom edge of the rear panel and gently pull up to create a small gap.

Insert an opening pick
1 minInsert a thin plastic opening pick into the seam created between the back panel and the frame.

Slice the rear adhesive
3 minSlide the plastic pick carefully around the entire perimeter to separate the back cover from the frame.

Lift off the rear cover
1 minGently lift the back cover off the phone frame and set it aside.

Unscrew the motherboard bracket
2 minRemove all Phillips #000 screws securing the upper plastic motherboard bracket.

2 minWarm the edges of the front display glass using a heat gun for two minutes to loosen the factory display adhesive.

Slice the display screen adhesive
4 minInsert an opening pick under the display bezel and slice along the edges to separate the screen from the body.

Remove the display panel
2 minLift the broken screen panel away from the frame while carefully threading its flex cable through the slot.

Clean the chassis frame
3 minScrape away leftover adhesive and broken glass fragments from the inner frame using a spudger and isopropyl alcohol.

Apply display adhesive
3 minApply precut double-sided adhesive strips along the recessed border of the phone chassis frame.

Install the new screen
2 minThread the display flex cable through the frame slot and press the replacement display flush into the chassis.

Connect the display cable

Reconnect the battery

Reinstall the motherboard cover
