Safety

Step-by-step

Eject SIM card tray
1 minInsert a SIM eject tool into the pinhole on the side of the phone. Push firmly until the tray pops out, then pull it out completely.

Heat back cover edges
3 minApply heat around the perimeter of the back panel for 2 to 3 minutes using a heat gun on low power to soften the adhesive.

Attach suction cup
2 minPlace a suction cup on the lower half of the back cover and pull upward to create a slight separation gap.

Slice back cover adhesive
4 minInsert a plastic pry tool into the gap and slide it around all edges to slice through the adhesive.

Lift off back cover
2 minCarefully lift the back cover straight off the chassis and place it aside.

Unscrew upper motherboard cover
3 minUse a Phillips #000 screwdriver to remove all screws securing the top motherboard bracket.

Remove upper motherboard cover
2 minPry up the edges of the plastic motherboard cover with a spudger and remove it from the device.

Disconnect battery cable
1 minLever the flat end of a spudger under the battery connector to disconnect it from the motherboard socket.

Disconnect power button flex cable
1 minUse a spudger to gently pop the power button flex connector off the motherboard.

Peel power button flex cable from chassis
3 minCarefully slide tweezers under the flex cable to detach it from the inner wall of the frame.

Position new power button flex cable
3 minAlign the replacement power button flex cable inside the side recess and press it against the frame adhesive.

Connect power button flex cable
1 minAlign the flex cable connector over its motherboard socket and press straight down until it snaps in.

Reconnect battery cable
1 minPress the battery connector firmly back into its motherboard socket.

Reinstall upper motherboard cover
2 minPlace the plastic motherboard cover back onto the frame, ensuring all tabs clip into position.

Fasten motherboard cover screws
3 minReinstall and tighten all Phillips #000 screws into the motherboard cover.

Apply back cover adhesive
3 minApply new double-sided adhesive strips along the perimeter frame of the phone chassis.

Secure back cover
2 minAlign the back cover onto the rear frame and press around all edges to bond the adhesive.

Reinsert SIM card tray
1 minSlide the SIM card tray back into its slot until it sits flush with the side of the housing.
