Step-by-step

Eject the SIM tray
1 minInsert SIM eject tool into hole on left side of frame and press firmly to pop tray out.

Heat rear panel
2 minUse heat gun on low heat around edges of back panel for two minutes to soften adhesive.

Apply suction cup
1 minPlace suction cup on lower portion of back panel and pull upward to create small gap.

Slice bottom adhesive
2 minInsert plastic opening pick into gap and slice through bottom adhesive strip carefully.

Unclip side edges
2 minSlide pick along side seams to release plastic perimeter clips and remaining adhesive.

Pry up rear cover
1 minLift back cover open gently from right side like a book, taking care not to strain flex cable.

Disconnect fingerprint sensor
1 minUse flat end of spudger to pop fingerprint sensor flex cable off motherboard connector.

Remove lower frame screws
2 minUnscrew Phillips #000 screws securing lower speaker enclosure over daughterboard.

Lift out speaker assembly
1 minPry up speaker cover with spudger tool and set it aside.

Disconnect sub-board flex
1 minLever main ribbon cable connector straight up from charging sub-board socket using spudger.

Detach antenna cable
1 minUse tweezers to carefully lift coaxial antenna connector off right side of sub-board.

Pry up charging board
1 minInsert flat side of spudger under charging sub-board and lift it out from housing notch.

Apply flux to port pins
2 minSpread thin layer of flux across anchor pads and rear pins of damaged USB-C port.

Desolder broken port
5 minApply soldering iron with desoldering braid to anchor points and data pins until port releases.

Solder replacement port
5 minPosition new USB-C port onto board pads and solder mount lugs and pin contacts cleanly.

Reseat charging board
1 minPlace repaired daughterboard back into bottom compartment of phone chassis.

Reconnect sub-board cables
2 minSnap coaxial antenna cable into place with tweezers, then press down interconnect flex connector.

Fasten speaker housing
2 minPosition lower speaker cover over sub-board and tighten Phillips #000 screws securely.

Reconnect fingerprint cable
1 minAlign fingerprint sensor ribbon cable above motherboard press connector and push gently to seat.

Snap back cover closed
2 minAlign rear panel with frame and press edges firmly around perimeter until clips snap together.
